I've tried this V.4 earlier today and it dont work with 64-bit. The version 5 is much better! Use the TrackIR workaround described in this forum if you need the 64-bit TrackIR support.

Games have to be enabled (i.e. have to have code added to them) in order to work (to NP's satisfaction) with TrackIR, using proprietary APIs and .dll's from NaturalPoint themselves, not generic stuff found in DirectX.

So I expect before now they simply didn't exist for putting into the .exe for 64-bit development even as placeholders (since it's a completely new addition across the board for NP/TIR), and having to wait for the next DCS:A10 beta before it will be added to the build.

At least I'd expect that to be so for us mere mortal open beta testers. I'm speculating on that though.

According to NP and ED the new TrackIR SDK that has the 64bit gold is in the hands of ED and will be incorporated into beta 4.

I don't get it why they used version 4 to enable support for 64bit games... why not use version 5 software as its much better

Is this version 5.1 software supposed to work with TrackIR3? It doesn't work for me at all.

Track IR 64 bit games support available

From the Track IR website:

4.1.038 beta 03

(Posted December 17, 2010)

Changes Added support for 64-bit TrackIR Enhanced games

Unfortunately my Track IR v4 /w vector support still is not working with the A-10 64 bit executable.

(It does work in 32 bit mode.)

Has anyone else had success with the Track IR beta drivers & A-10 64 bit?

Thanks

There is no support in beta 3 for 64 bit trackir because 64bit trackir didn't exist when beta 3 was built.

As Wags said....wait for the next beta. You're wasting time trying to get it to recognize it now.

They (NaturalPoint) better make this 64bit support with version 5 of the software as version 4 sucks compared to version 5, and if they don't I might as well stick with 32bit

Thanks for the update... I don't think it'll work with Beta 3 of DCS A-10C, need to wait for Beta 4, hopefully not long now :)

I guess ED is doing final Beta 4 tests with this BETA TIR Software and will release the DCSW beta 4 within this week!

Yeah it wouldnt work with beta 3 anymore than version 4 /w 64 bit support would but at least we now have support in version 5 which is leaps and bounds better than version 4!

OT, but the people hoping for a magic bullet with the x64 executable are going to be disappointed. Just run it now and see the performance/stutter improvements, if any.

I'm not sure what the deal is. I know theoretically there shouldn't be performance difference, but for a while I was seeing one, running 32/64 back to back. I used to gain 3-5fps on 64bit. I no longer do.

It really depends on your computer, components, and installation.

I didn’t think there would be any difference going from 64bit to 32bit, but when I installed the trackIR software and booted into 32 after using 64 for weeks I immediately noticed a discernable difference in smoothness.

Its not game breaking for me but I would rather play in 64 bit mode any day of the week.
