SilentEagle Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 BUt i need help finding detailed drawings i can't find anything on this thing...no wonder no one else wanted to do it LOL

D-Scythe Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 No line drawings, just big photos. The nose looks a bit more tapered and body more angular though.
SilentEagle Posted June 6, 2005 Author Posted June 6, 2005 I am on the skinning process right now but I am confused by ED's suggestions...i did everything they said and it works fine if i want to apply the bitmap to the split up model but when i try to apply it to my model that isn't split apart it doesn't work....
F l a n k e r Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Not bad SilentEagle, keep up the good work! Somethings new about the F-104? The beginnig was promising!
SilentEagle Posted June 6, 2005 Author Posted June 6, 2005 Still working on the skin...need to do some weathering on the lines and add a few more details and the skin is finished... But I HAVE NO IDEA how to do a LOD in one file....could someone please tell me where to go in 3ds to create different levels in the same file...Thanks! :) 1
StrikeMax Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Utilities panel > Utilities rollout > More button > Utilities dialog > Level of Detail
D-Scythe Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Can you make the nose a bit longer and sleeker like in the pics above? Also, the shape of your fins is not correct. Fine model though.
SilentEagle Posted June 7, 2005 Author Posted June 7, 2005 OK nose is longer...almost all proportions very close to real thing...fins look fine i am not sure what you mean from all the pics i ahve seen they look the same... I have pretty much finished my skin...even though i was not very efficient with the skin layout since this my first skinned model LOL! I added line weathering..more depth to rivets...and a few things here and there...overall it looks ok.. Thanks for the hint Strikemax! I am still not sure exactly how to use that Level Of Detail Menu...at least i know where it is now! That is really the only thing left on my list...so I hope I can get that sorted out soon! and here it is! The original model in all its glory HAHA and some more pics of my (hopefully) finshed skin!
KuostA Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 WOW. That is one Lethal looking model. The skinning is excelente! All the rivets and bumps make it look like it has bump-mapping (I wish). So once you finish doing the LODs for the model, what will be your next plan of action? I hope word of this model definitely gets out, and the Dev's take the time to impliment this ingame.
TBT_Piper Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 The Dev's already emailed him. :) I know because I hacked his computer. ;) Just kidding abotu the hacking part, jeez.
SilentEagle Posted June 7, 2005 Author Posted June 7, 2005 Ok now I need to know how they want the animation to be set up. Because it can be done several ways....do they want it in the hieracrchy menu under IK or on the bottom in the render animation bar???? I finally firugred out this lod thing...only problem is it counts the other lod levels in the polygon counter...oh well hope that doesn't matter ;)
Dmut Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 here is AGM-154 from SuperVasia - http://aviator.comtv.ru/sv/agm.htm "There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general: recklessness, which leads to destruction; cowardice, which leads to capture; a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults; a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame; over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble." SilentEagle Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 **************************************!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :icon_conf Out of all the models left...hmmm so no one was planning on telling me till i finished mine thanks Oh and BTW not sure why he added the bomb bay door....LOMAC is so gay they didn't even make the dispenser actually dispense!!!
TBT_Piper Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 LOL!!!! Sucks to be you Eagle, ;) It is messed up that he modelled the doors when lomac doesn't use them. They might put them in 1.2 or 1.3 os 2.x who know.s

I want to point, that this model was made not by ED, but 3d-party talented modeller, and we got that picture just today. Everybody are in the same conditions and ED taking the best model. Make you model better then this one if you want to see it in LO. SilentEagle Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Pfft I wouldn't waste my time on it it is a crappy looking weapon anyway
Dmut Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 What wrong with you SilentEagle? you are so unhappy to see better model then yours? So now it's "crappy looking weapon"? hmm, I see... ALDEGA Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 What wrong with you SilentEagle? you are so unhappy to see better model then yours? So now it's "crappy looking weapon"? hmm, I see...He was so jealous he forgot to think! SilentEagle, plenty of larger models are left that you can do. F-15E model would be appreciated by many, I think. Just let people know you're making something, so they don't work on the same thing.
paladrian Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I don't see the need of making such high detail weapons All you do is to make the game even less playable to us mortals with not enough money for an uber PC :(
TBT_Piper Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 What I meant was on the AGM-154 in the game right now. now the SU-25T weapons.
