Drona Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Hi, Can you guys please tell me how to disable 6 DOF in FC2. It's driving me nuts. Although good I hate it. Thanks.
sobek Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Are you using TrackIR? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

Drona Posted January 9, 2011 Author Posted January 9, 2011 Why do you want to disable 6dof? I don't like it... it kind of makes me lose my concentration on the target and also while landing and its irritating.
Le0kong Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Not sure if i understand what you want. Do you mean the head "jiggle" under G force or do you want the cockpit to became like a 2D cockpit like in Microsoft Flight Simulator? For the first one you can try pressing either Lshift+'J' or Lctrl+'F1'. Le0kong Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Go to the options screen then the MISC tab and uncheck "head movement by g forces in cockpit" I don't think FC2 has that option. glenmeyers have you tried the commands i said? There is another one you can try, F1+'Lwin' If is not one of these then take a look in the manual, there lots of camera options and commands there. Viper101 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 the head rolling I guess. I'm sorry if i sound dumb here. If you mean the head roll, go to Config/View/View.lua (open with notepad/wordpad) and look for head_roll_shaking = true and change 'true' to 'false'. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 No, open with Notepad++ . The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Lange_666 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 No need for Notepad++, Notepad will do the job just fine. That you need Notepad++ is just a hoax! EtherealN Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Say that when you end up reinstalling because your program misencoded the file and broke the syntax. There is a reason why we recommend this, and that reason is that people have broken the files by using regular notepad or (HORROR) wordpad. Notepad++ is free software, why gamble with crap editors when there's a solid code editor available? ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
Lange_666 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Never had any problems with any Notepad editing done within the last 10 years and i've edited about anything you can imagine, so... i'm not really convinced! Le0kong Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Calling something a hoax because you don't understand, is bad, adding anecdote evidence don't help here neither. AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8@3360 MHz | MB Asus M4A78-EM | 4GB DDR2-800 Kingston | XFX HD 5770 @850-900/1200-1300 | 500G Samsung HD502HI | Case CM 335 | CM-EPP 460W | Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) | Saitek X65F | Freetrack(Wii Remote) | LG 23' W2353V
EtherealN Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Anybody can use their choice, yes, but encouraging people to use Notepad++ instead of regular Notepad or Wordpad (didn't notice that thing is still in windows :P ) is a very good way to reduce the load on support staff. And that's more than mere anecdotal evidence, that's the experience of both support staff and those of us that frequent the forum's bug/problem/support sections. ;) Fitting your cars fuel line with some strong tape works pretty well as long as you choose a good tape - but you're not going to ever see a car mechanic suggest you do that or not see a happy expression on their face when they hear you tell someone else to do that. :P Leokong, don't do to much with the choice of word "hoax" there, imo. Judging by location I suspect English is not his first language (not that it is mine either, but you get the idea). Vullcan Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 what does notepad modify on the file? Ive used notepad to edit code for years and years in many languages and the only thing it alters is what you type in, unless you saved it as some other file extension and / or found another way to modify the file.
Vecko Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I tried all these commands and still no go.. will look into the manual though... F1+ Lwin will not work...Use Lwin+F1 and your problem will be solved..This works for LOMAC and BS too... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
Le0kong Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 what does notepad modify on the file? Ive used notepad to edit code for years and years in many languages and the only thing it alters is what you type in, unless you saved it as some other file extension and / or found another way to modify the file. Because after decades of different encodings and code pages being used on many different systems created a mess, so in every simple text file today theres a whole of black magic going on. And Notepad is made just good enough to work most of the time, and don't do much to work to translate well between encoding accurately. Just as you experience, it work, most of the time, but when it breaks a file from a different editor it its a pain the a**.
