hendo97, DCS Warthog is stereo only at present. You have to split the stereo signal OR use the sub output (2 or 2.1) Enabling 4.1 or 5.1 or higher aint going to work with DCS Warthog(no surround) but the BK should work great if You use the front L&R (joined as mono) or the sub channel.

BK and subs don't give us directional sound, only BOOM BOOM

Best way to hook it up so You don't have to worry about any of this is to split the front L&R signal, use an adapter to make it mono and enjoy the gau/8 and exploisions.....and plug Your sub into the sub channel or split this its already combined mono

some Sound Cards will not output to the sub channel if its not on or the source is stereo, You have to tell some SC's to use 2.1 steering channels or turn on the sub channel....

Hi guys, Well I finally took the plunge and got my Buttkicker Gamer 2, Im in th eprocess of setting it up for A10 and BS, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips at what levels I should be setting up in my Audio settings, At mo I have f and R at 100% with the Sub set at 65%, This gives me good vibration for the engines and stunning feeling when firing the Gun, However i seem to be missing the more subtle feelings, like the gear, the clunk at bomb release and even the thump as I land back on the runway. I have both low and high cutoffs off on the BK Amp. Im using a MB sound chip on a Asus MB, not sure if thats a good thing or should I be looking at a dedicted sound card to cover all sound ranges.

Any ideas greatfully recieved.

Set Your windows mixer (all) 5/8 to 3/4 full, The BK should clip at about 40% volume if not tell Me where it clips at, looking outside(F2) full throttle close to back of engines. Don't let it clip for very long just note the volume position and turn it down where it wont clip..

Since one of the patches the weapon release sound changed its more of a higher freq. now and not that dull thud that used to thump the BK

And I think the same is true for normal landing You have to slam the gear for a good kick in the ass...

I like the audio in Warthog its well engineered and recorded but it seems to be all or nothing with the low freqs.

Something else...I use Plantronic headphones and some low freqs. can be felt but not heard very well not quite sure whats going on there but when I listen to music I feel and hear the lows...hmm

For the sounds you can't hear well and as consequence buttkicker does not respond to well, you can manually change their volume if you know which sound file you want adjusted... each sound file has its own config file so to speak (I forgot the file extention) but if you look in Sound/Effects folder you will see what I mean... volume is marked as GAIN.. and one tip, don't go over the top with volume increase as it might kill your amp or kicker.

This enhanced my "buttkicker" experience very much:

Actually I not going to say but..... in the meantime try this..

Extract this autoexec.cfg into C:\Users\<User Name>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\config

EDIT:- See 2 posts below for file

It will boost the Bass sounds from sounds external to cockpit, with the canopy closed. You can play with the settings yourselves.

wow surround sound is coming with 1.1.0.8 patch!

Trouble is after years of having surround sound setup on my PC the other day I moved my room around and decided to ditch the huge surround sound app because all I play on PC is DCS and it doesnt support it.

I will have to go and get myself a buttkick, even through I just spent £200 on a new graphics card.

Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated!

Processor: Intel Q6600 @ 3.00GHz

GPU: GeForce MSI RTX 2060 6GB

RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR2

HDD: 1TBGB Crucial SSD

OS: Windows 10, 64-bit

Peripherals: Logitech G940 Hotas, TrackiR 5, Voice Activated commands , Sharkoon 5.1 headset. ,Touch Control for iPad, JoyToKey

Voice communication becomes a big problem, whenever someone has a deep voice your "buttkicker" will go off... and thus ruin the experience. Flying... or gaming in general for that matter without Voice Comms (TS3/Vent) is something I do not do at all... no matter if it is FC2 or MineSweeper/Solitaire Tournament :megalol:....

I found using two sound cards the easiest as it pretty much splits game sounds and voice comms. Of course I then mix it into my headphones... while buttkicker is fed by a pure line out. I defined the on-board soundcard as my output source for TS3 and Vent, while my X-Fi is defined as default device by Windows and as such gets used everywhere else.

How do you mix the separate sounds sources back into headphones?

I just got my buttkicker and the result is excellent it really adds to the inmersion! Plus i has the advantage of keeping sound volume low at night but getting all the rumble. I never thought it was going to be so good. I was already missing force feedback from my old joystick when i replaced it with the TH Warthog. Now its somehow back!:joystick:

Hi all. I've been getting my butt buttkicked in racing games using SimVibe software with a 2nd soundcard. Cannot race without them now(2 x BK Gamer2). :)

Is there something similar for DCS to get those kickers working with the telemetry data instead of audio?
