As an 8000+ hour jet pilot, having followed flight simulation since the mid 80s, I can attest this is the most accurate flight model I've flown on a PC. The sound, graphics, detail and "feel" very closely replicate the sensation of flight. You folks at ED have really outdone yourselves. Congrats! Looking forward to learning this airplane and can't wait for your next creation!

+Rep on that. I was reading the DCS website while downloading it last night, and read something about it being the most accurate flight model ever. Then I started thinking about all of the complaints on the flight model here in the forums...I was worried about that one. But the final release version flight model is like a night and day difference between the two.

Another subtle addition is hearing the wind in the cockpit. I looooove planting the stick in my lap and hearing the WOOOOOSH of the aerodynamic brake you create.

Now all we need is a canopy closing sound. :music_whistling:

How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!

The changes from beta4 are mindblowing.

When I first fired up DCS A10C on my old core2duo 2,67Ghz + 8800GT it looked bad and veeery suttery, after some finetuning I was able to make it fairly playable.

Now I'm able to crack up the details a bit and it's still muuuch more smoother than before. And my last mission (smerch hunt) was a complete blast. CBUs worked like a charm.

The only problem I have is that time goes sooooo freaking fast while flying this beauty...

Superb job everyone at ED, you can be truly proud about what you have accomplished.

Isnt that the truth!?!?! I was up until 1am....didnt even realize it...kept playing the first instant action over and over :D

Can anyone say if muilt monitor works the same as the beta?

I'm using eyefinity on my ATI card, and I can say I changed nothing from beta to the official release. Just changed my res to 5040 x 1050 and all was well.

Hi there,

Game runs very smooth(everything high except shadows+ 1080 + 2AA) 30 fps when flying over city, on the runway depending where I look at framerate spikes from 20 to 40 but still it feels playable even when framerate goes down.

I have an "old" Quad Core 2 8300 2.50 and an ATI 5770 I see the performance much better than on the latest beta 4.

Thankfully I'll be able to fly it without a problem apparently.

I only got an issue, when ingame I can't center the view of the TrackIr I don't know why but the sim doesn't seem to detect the hotkey(F12). Also the view with trackir moves around the cockpit without any limit of angle(360) not just like in Lockon. It never happened that to me with other sims.

That hotkey is used by the simulator for radio communication. I would recommend setting the TrackIR commands elsewhere - not on the function keys.

So many improvements in this release I don't even know where to start, but what an awesome simulator! So many changes and fixes made to every little detail. The performance is excellent... I'm experiencing better than expected framerates on an older system. The flight model has taken so much work! Roll rate complaints, post-stall behavior... it all fits now.

I'm getting a kick out of CBUs and the new gun sound at the moment! Well done ED!

I think I'm gonna cry after just flying the hog around, complete bliss and so so smooth compared to the beta releases, don't even know why I'm writing this when I should be learning to fly the beast, but I had to say how much of a quality job the ED team and beta testers have done on this sim! Well done fellas

I second that.. By far the best simulation of a fixed wing aircraft there is period.

Now to polish up some other areas and get us a dynamic campaign or virtual battlefield sort of thing going on.. :)

What would be really fun is having two battlefield commanders with a gods eye view in the mission only able to see certain things depending on radar range and radio reports. You could direct or launch missions from airbases, scramble etc, while we actually had people online.

If they made the frogfoot you could have head to head almost..

There are mods that allow that through using the export feature for previous products, and with luck we'll see something like that come for DCS:A-10C as well. :)

When using the cannon I don't see tracers, I tried it from both external and cockpit view.

Also I activated the HDR but it seems like it is not working. Maybe I am mistaking but I don't see same bloom than on the beta 4.

I thought you had to take out some of the jtac ground type stuff because it simulated a little too closely for the market. Or you going to offer it later on maybe for an add on?

I'd be in for that for sure.

I think this release is going to attract a lot of new customers. I mean black shark was supposedly the best out there but it was Russian so it didnt attract the western market out there.

I've posted vids of this sim on other forums and chat rooms and everyone's jaws drop about how awesome it is.

I expect word of mouth to get out. I just hope many don't get scared away at the difficulty. We need a lot of people to help these newbs out.. including myself heh

No tracers in the real A-10C either. HDR has been "Improved" See here for the original HDR effects --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1114012&postcount=4

Oh, you meant for singleplayer? What I meant was player-drive ATC/GCI/AWACS directing other players online, with information based on what sensors are alive. So the OPFOR team can reduce your controller's information through launching attacks on search radars and so on.

Just installed and run the released version and the first impression is like most of the posters here positive.

Performance my main concern, is improved. While having more or less the same FPS as in beta 4, the sim feels a lot smoother, even when 20 FPS. Noticed some stutters, but not disturbing for the moment. Flying low is now possible. :D

Overall I think it is a successful release, of which ED has to be proud of!

To many more!

No I meant multiplayer. I didnt see the JTAC before beta 4 so I dont know what it was. I just heard you took it out because of the military asking... was wondering why. Thought maybe you had bigger plans.

But having CIC center for AWACS (DO they still run JSTARS?) ATC etc would be awesome. Maybe even just using the map combined with a control panel that showed your resources. Could almost be a like a real time strategy. Could just have a tower view, or flip to different radar sites to operate them. I've been fascinated with electronic warfare. Probably why I work at a WISP.

You'd have limited AI resources and limited respawns of real life people. To the point a timer kicks in and you can't fly until the timer is off.

Or just run an entire day's campaign directing caps to protect the hogs and such, changing missions on the fly.

The JTAC is still in.

The thing that got removed was a battle commander mode that was originally developed for military clients in training.
