You'll feel less helpless when you make a two-second popup and ripple-fire 8 Hellfires on an armor column. :)

Still doesn't beat CBUs :D

yes it will. The other seat can be occupied by an AI pilot/gunner & you will be able to switch seats.

If you read his blog you can really see how much attention to detail there is. Everything from radar systems to cold starts in the dark. I think this is going to be one to look out for.

I am very interested in how the 2 seats are handled. Maybe ED can purchase his solution and give us some 2 seat A/Cs.

Looks good, but is it vaporware ? :(

Why? Combat Helo dev-blog is the most active news source of all flight sims in development. They are still working on it.

True, but these things have a habit of disappearing!

Combat helo is two years old & coming along very nicely. This doesnt have all the post processing effects switched on just yet as its still in development.

Overall, no, but my guess is that it will be plenty to satisfy most people.

It WILL balance an AFM with 'eye candy' to give overall an amazing Sim, i can assure you!

An absolutly accurate FM is not neccessary (IMHO) to be called a 'sim'. This will be a sim, and actually feel like you are flying due to the fidelity of the graphics. Something, that very sadly, is lacking in DCS BS.

Don't bother slating, it aint worth your time, I support ED to the bitter end and always have, but the legacy issues with the used graphics engine back from the flanker days, ubisoft and a million other issues, beggers belief to be frank.

Wow, monacle view is handled very well in my mind. Still interested in seeing how weapons are handled besides the pilots gun. The GUI is great in the "hangar" though.

Amazing! Hope it's a worthy replacement for BS.

I will start by saying that I'm buying this no matter what it is, just to support Flex. I used to fly with Flex back in the 404th KamiKali days with LB2, and I'm very excited about what he's up to these days.

Also, my definition of "sim" is impossible to reach, but that's okay! To me, if it's flight software that I use in my spare time primarily for entertainment, then it's a game. If I'm using it for a purpose other than entertainment, then it's a sim. Sadly, this means that FSX is both a game and a sim to me, while the DCS series are games to me. But I digress.

Finally, since this will be a game for me (again, this is just my personal definition, in no way meant to slag the effort), regardless of its marketing, I'm not concerned with absolute realism, so I of course agree with your statement that it is not necessary. Flex and company are doing some really awesome things that have yet to be done in an AH-64 sim, so I'll reiterate my excitement and say that I will be buying this the instant it becomes available.

To everyone else, consider this my endorsement for this product as a former AH-64 crew chief. Not that my endorsement means anything, but hey, it can't hurt, right?

No offense, but that makes it a pretty silly definition then, doesn't it? In my mind, a desktop PC "sim" is software that attempts to accurately replicate flight characteristics, systems, and environment dynamics of a particular aircraft or aircrafts. A sim should be limited only by time and technology, not target market. (Rather than omit things for the sake of entertainment value/ease of access.)

You're talking about an FTD/"Flight Training Device."

The difference being one is approved for training use, the other is not. One is on your home PC, the other is in a giant tower next to a mock-up cockpit. My 2c.

Thanks for your service.
