You're talking about an FTD/"Flight Training Device."

Agreed!

But really, the defining factor for me is why I'm using the software. If it's for entertainment, it's a game. If it's to help me "brush up" so I perform better during my pilot training, it's a sim. Again, these are just the definitions I use for my own purposes. If I call a title in the DCS series a "game", it's because I use it solely for the purpose of entertainment, and is not meant in any way to insult the level of detail.

Sorry for the derail.

On topic, I am especially excited about how Flex and company are putting those old LB2-style pieces into the game, such as the pilot selection and arming screens. I think it will really bring up a lot of memories for the older games, while also drawing in a lot of newer fans who want a step up in realism from some of the console games out there, but are not interested in DCS BS, for example.

Will definitely purchase this one. Had such a great time with LB2.

Oh and aaron....no such word as "Aircrafts"! :)

That's a pluralization to illustrate a point. Note that if I had said "aircraft or aircraft" it would not have made sense. I'm not here to use perfect grammar or spelling anyway, or I would have corrected your post for its own errors. (Like a sentence fragmented with a four-dot ellipse or for placing an exclamation point outside of quotation marks. You get my point! :D)

Sorry mate but no such word. That's all I was saying. As an ex Aircraft Tech (20yrs RAAF), the word "aircrafts" grates on me. :joystick:

Just become aware of this simulator in the making.

And now I am suddenly filled with joy.

I am a big fan of Jane's Combat Simulations and especially Longbow 2.

Since there have been no Apache Simulator/Games worthwhile since then, this is making me so very very much excited.

It also looks to be coming together nicely.

Anyways I´m off to find out where I can start sending my money their way, I am so gonna support this all the way.

Well, it would have been easy to be correct anyhow; just make it "one or several aircraft". :)

And yeah, I know, I'm an evil grammar **** too. :D

Thanks, it mentioned in one of the threads that if you ditch you can get out, wait for CSAR with flares and a gun. This will be amazing!

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

They are releasing a Firing Range first which will allow all to get familiar with aircraft, its systems, weapons etc. This will allow development to continue on a Dynamic Campaign and a scripted campaign. Developmet will continue with other helicopters (the CH47 is already looking good).
