A friend of me, told me, that at the present day, online flights with 10 persons (A10) and some triggers and IA, itґs impossible to fly smooth.

 

I canґt believe that so many years ago, this problem still continuous

 

Who knows, may be, in DCS SU35 in the year 2.025, we can fly at least 15 persons with no problems, meanwhile, Falcon 4 and IL2 have 30 and more pilots online.

It curiously that you say the server, the machine... I think this are just poor excuses. What we have is the same old net code from LOMAC in 2.003 and thats all.

 

But the same server with the same machine, can host as i say, missions with 20-30 persons with no lag.

 

Itґs a pity ED doesnґt work more in this aspect.

yeah like WRFirefox said, its at the server end and maybe the mission it self. We had 18 people on without problems

 

It's definetly not the mission. Maybe the weather but not the number of enemys and not the number of triggers.

If the server have a bad connection the clients are warping, sinking into the ground etc but you still have good FPS.

 

The real performance you can measure with FPS depends on how many clients are in your field of view.

 

We had a meeting with 10 clients.

The host used a 64Mbit connection, so warping was not the problem.

The big performance loss was once you turned your head and looked at the other aircrafts.

Once all clients turned OFF whose NAV-lights the FPS was riseing a little bit.

You base you reasoning because "A friend of me, told me"? Get some hard eveidence first of what the problem is then report it would I think be more helpful for everyone.

Meanwhile in FC2/DCS BS we have 60 :)

My server cycles between 2 missions every 2 hours automatically and has 10 player slots, which are completely full at times. I have never witnessed any lagging. It will crash at around 23-30 hours of continual use/ mission rotating. I think the current crashing has to do with a mission because its always when it switches to that particular one.

We have had flights with 14 pilots with no lag, and every thing was OK, I must tell that there was no IA, and no Triggers. This weekend we are going to fly 15 pilots in a mission with IA and triggers. I will tell you results.

 

I'm talking about DCS: A-10C

2 weeks ago, I had a mission with:

- 5 clients (10 planned)

- about 150 ground units (static and moving)

- about 70 static objects

- 10 AI aircraft (F-15E, F-15C, KC-135, AWACS, Tornados)

 

and had no lags. System as in my profile and I have a 6000Mbit connection. But I had no triggers in that mission. So, for me: it's very fine! :thumbup:
