Has this software been updated to remove the unncessary displays on the primary monitor that allow an iPad to work?

You can still use it for you maps and notes.. you can switch from and back to the Ipadpit as you like. :)

Hey guys,

 

Inspired by Ghosts fantastic work on the DCS-A10 pit, and with a few pointers from him here and there, I've managed to hack around a little bit and create an iPad pit for the Black Shark with working ABRIS, Shkval and PVI-800 sections that I'll be uploading shortly.

 

Screen shots below show the work in progress so far, but I hope to have it uploaded ready for the weekend :)

That's great, can't wait to try this in Blackshark as well. I have been using Icontrol although I did download this when it first came out I have never been able to get it to connect to my pc despite having all ports and firewalls open. However since Icontrol seems to have a problem with latest patch and this now works for Both my DCS aircraft, I think it's time to give it another shot. I must be able to get it to conne t somehow. :D

 

However please don't think I'm for one min complaining and slagging off icontrol, it's a stunning piece of work, I just like to keep my options open.

Ok update. Well after a few hrs trail and error, I have got touch Ir talking to PC and Ipadpit up and running. what can I say WOW, this has added a whole other dimension to my Flying Thankyou.

 

Just one question though, Is there anyway to improve the quality of the screen grab. On all the pictures on your site and Video the live mfd's look quite clear. For some reason although they are clear on my Monitor when I view on the Ipad 2 they look blurred. while not a hugh issue, it does make the map rather hard to read.

 

Im running 3 x 23" monitors on Eyefinity at 5948 x 1080 Res and I screen grab the 2 monitor displays from the bottom left corner on the left monitor.

 

Any ideas?

Hi Guys,

 

Version 2.0 of the Ipadpit is available for download

 

This version includes the following:

 

• All MFD's and CDU displays are working.

• The UFC is now directly reachable from the LeftMFD

• An extra Activity is added with a landscape ipad view with 2 working MFD's and UFC

• Some extra switches are added like the autopilot switches.

 

There are two profiles included in this package. One for a Dual MFD and one for a Single MFD solution. You might choice to use one MFD to get a better in game cockpit FOV. Performances wise there is a difference also. It’s up to you with on you prefer.

 

Read the doc's for the installation and configuration instructions.

It is. You can check out iControl DCS which shares many of the same features as this, and also includes switches and dials that are synced with the sim. Links are in my sig.

 

I'll leave it up to you to decide which is right for you :)

Hi cowboy, good to hear you got it up and running.

What size are the mfd's on you monitor. I'm using 300x300. You also can set the grab quality in Touch ir. The higher the quality the slower the performace. 300x300 with middle quality should be fine. I will have a second look what i'm using.

 

And.. I have a beta profile ready with some moving buttons that are in synch with the sim.. Is still a work in progess but with a new version of touch IR i will get some more controle over the button animation.

Its a free download. It works with the ipad app Touch IR that I found and used to build the ipadpit with. You can get Touch IR on the app store for only 6$.

 

Bonus for blackshark pilots is that there is a Blackshark ipadpit profile made by ipadpit user Ed "highwaymaned" available also! That's the great thing about using Touch IR, you can use it to modify and build your own pits! Still thinking about making some FSX cockpit versions.. if I only had the time!

I may very well get both this and dcs icontrol, but I have to ask, what are the main differences / pros and cons between the two.

 

With the 1.09 patch icontrol bug, one reason to have both.

Well, icontrol DCS has the Radio, TACAN and ILS panel...But changing frequencies using ipad doesnt work after patch 1.09 . Changing freqs for tacan and ils still works...

 

I have touch ir also, but it doesnt have a panel for changing frequencies..(ie you cant change frequencies on ipad, and see the actual change on radio panel inside touch ir)...

The comm panel is available in the ipadpit but indeed without the freq display. And some buttons are broken at this moment. You can do a complete cold cockpit start up with the ipadpit, for this you got the the complete cockpit in highresolution. (Check the startup video on my site.) I added the Function keys for quick comm access.

I think the way icontrole is build it got some big advantages for the developer like the freq display and the ease to add moving buttons and the way a developer can communicate with A10. I used the 3th party tool Touch ir, that on my request got some great upgrades that made the ipadpit for what it is now. A plus for Touch ir is that the end user can use it for other sims or modify the ipadpit as he likes.. Like the iphone version or the Blackshark versions already available. O...before I forget.. There is a price diference between or A10 ipad addons.

Having the MFD on the screen negates that since I would like to always have the CDU info on the CDU on the ipad instead of it changing when I select MAV or TGP.

I'm sure you can remove all you don't need from the Ipadpit if you need to. The profile is open ready to modify. Not sure if you need to with the TM mfd's. Does it uses keycombinations? The CDU is displayed in a single view so you would not bother about the rest of the functionality.

I am just finishing off an interactive Ka-50 datalink panel for touch-IR.

This. I have been searching for the past 24 hours for the the answer to this. I have the MFD's and the TM HOTAS Warthog. The imported keyboard assignment file wipes out the joystick and mfd setup. Does anybody have a config that was designed for the HOTAS Warthog and MFD's?

 

I'm wondering that if I import the custom keyboard settings that are included in iPadpit and then reset the controllers for the Warthog and MFD's by deleting the files specified in a sticky. Would that keep the custom keyboard and bring back the defaults for the mfd's and Warthog?

 

Now if only I could get the live MFD's working. All this screen resolution editing is confusing the hell out of me.

iControl DCS doesn't change your key mapping and the server has a utility to make configuring the screen for the MFDs easy.
