WilloUK Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 hi guys in MP how do i send target info to 1 of my squad mates MFD's when i have the target locked with my TGP. but they dont have 1????? Sorry for a noobish question Thanks Phil
ttaylor0024 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 TMS Right short to make a mark point Switch to mark point mode on your CDU Change to the mark point you just made (ex. Mark Point A, Mark Point B, etc) Read out the lat/long coordinates to your squad mate who is entering them into his CDU.
RichardG Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Broadcast SPI is DMS, or TMS left. I can't remember which. But its broken in Multi player right now.-
ScEBlack1 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 broadcast SPI is DMS switch left long, but, as of now is not working in MP but soon will be.
jeffyd123 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 You dont need to make a mark point, but just make a target SPI (TMS Forward Long), then DMS Left Long will broadcast it, but, it is indeed broken in MP right now. i7 8700K @ 4.4Ghz, 16G 3200 RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti, T16000 HOTAS, TIR5, 75" DLP Monitor
airdog Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 I point track the target with my TGP and then read off the Lat/Long that is at the bottom middle of the TGP screen to my wingman who enters the data into his cdu and within minutes the target is smoking :) Airdog | Asus ROG Strix Z370-E Mobo | i7 8700K @ 4.7 | 32 GB DDR4@3200mhz | Gigabyte 2080Ti OC 11GB| Samsung M.2 960 Evo 250Gb and 500Gb | Win10 Pro | Hotas Warthog #02743 | Track IR 5 | Toshiba 47" 120hz LED | Acer 23" Touchscreen | HELIOS |Oculus Rift-S| http://www.blackknightssquadron.com/

PlainSight Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Lase it and your wingman can then use his tgp's LSS mode to track the laser. Buddy lasing, I think that's the fastest way. Edited April 2, 2011 by PlainSight [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Kenan Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 This is how I send the target info: "Oy mate! Can you see that tank near that hill? Are you forking blind or what?!?" That usually works. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . Croatian radio chat for DCS World

rud Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 I'm actually finding the whole CDU steps unnecessary if you have a TGP. Just read off the coordinates, or listen to your buddies, and slew the TGP manually to those numbers. It's really pretty easy once you get the knack of it and almost always faster than messing with the CDU. once SPI broadcast is fixed in multiplayer it's gonna be a whole lot easier!
jiblet Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 On a slightly related note, am I dreaming or did you used to be able to see the laser at night with NVGs? Im sure I remember seeing it around beta 3, but not any more.
Frostiken Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 You can still see it. At least I was able to see my own. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MTFDarkEagle Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 It wasn't the laser: it was the IR beam you saw IIRC. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Frostiken Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 It wasn't the laser: it was the IR beam you saw IIRC. Yeah, I know, which is what was confusing about it: My TPod page said 'L'. I actually checked all three modes because I didn't think it should be visible. IIRC it was visible in all three. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Rainmaker Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Yeah, I know, which is what was confusing about it: My TPod page said 'L'. I actually checked all three modes because I didn't think it should be visible. IIRC it was visible in all three. If I remember correctly, there was a bug a few patches ago that caused both to fire with only one selected? Not completely sure, but I think so. So...if that's the case and now it's fixed, I would assume that's why you can't see it any more without have both selected on the TGP page.
Frostiken Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well I remember seeing the beam with just the laser on, and this was only last night or so. I was extremely confused. I just checked and it was working normal, so maybe I'm crazy. Or there's a minor, rare bug with it :p [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
jiblet Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Duh - youre right its the IR pointer I was thinking about - Just tried it and it works as it should - cant see the laser but can see the pointer and both.
StrongHarm Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Remember also that you can change your TGP to show MGRS (or UTM.. and no I don't want to discuss the difference! :) ) in TGP CTRL. Easier to read off. You can either read the entire 10 numbers or just the first three of each section. So you can read "MM 12345 67890" to get them right on the target or "MM 123 678" to get them within the general grid. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

It is a great backup method to the SPI transmit. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" Weltensegler Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 speaking of backup for spi transmit..is that fixed in 1.1.0.7? How about dynamic cockpit shadows? thought they're both in this next patch but couldn't find them in the bug fixed list...well I will see it tomorrow when installed 4790K@4,6Ghz | EVGA Z97 Classified | 32GB @ 2400Mhz | Titan X hydro copper| SSD 850 PRO ____________________________________ Moments in DCS: --> https://www.youtube.com/user/weltensegLA --> WELD's cockpit: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92274
Frostiken Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Dynamic cockpit shadows aren't in. I noticed the other day when watching Wag's video of toss bombing that he said they were for an 'upcoming' patch and I didn't get the impression that that specifically meant this one.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
tmahring Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Can you broadcast your SPI as a Message that others receive like they do from a JTAC and it becomes displayed as "NEW TASKING" in their MFCD ?
