Settingz85 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 ...missing texture issues... I have the same issue since i installed this mod. Beside smoke looks like squares now. Could the "better fire&smoke" mod cause this? Which file of this visibility mod is the newest one and does work without this missing texture thing?
Kuky Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Please note with every new version of the sim some things could change so I just make new file by editing the lua file from newer version (instead of using lua file from previous version). I've attached High.lua file to 1st post which I am using now in DCS World 1.2.0 (extract to DCS World/Config/terrain folder and I suggest you make a backup of existing file) PS: Smoke looking like square could not be caused by better fire & smoke mod as it only edits lua file. doveman Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 If we can no longer add a Very High and just have to edit the existing High, should we still edit the graphics.cfg to be High { near_clip = 0.2; middle_clip = 4; far_clip = 150000; structures = {60, 20000}; trees = {1000, 12000}; dynamic = {300, 20000}; dynamic2 = {300, 20000,0.5}; objects = {5000, 80000}; mirage = {3000, 20000}; surface = {20000, 80000}; lights = {200, 80000}; districtobjects = {400, 400}; districts = {12000, 12000}; lodMult = 2.0; lodAdd = 0; } } It doesn't seem ideal as then we can't switch between High and Very High to compare (well we can't do that anyway if we're having to edit High.lua). Kuky Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 The only thing I change in Graphics.cfg is structures line and reduce first number to 30 to give bit more FPS to compensate for loss of FPS with increased distance for buildings, and I change MaxFPS line, nothing else. If you are fine with FPS with default values you can leave structures = {60, 20000} I think you can have Very High option but since ED keeps changing file structure I can't be bothered to keep looking for it every time, so now I just edit High.lua No longer active in DCS...

Kuky Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) please redownload the file again as I found value I used in line 41 (I was still testing it and only tonight realised what it does) creates missing grass/bushes on some parts of the map (looks to be related to map height over sea level and if you are over that value - it was 200m in previous file version anywhere above 200m and grass/bushes does not show, so I changed it back to original value of 2000m) Edited September 8, 2012 by Kuky No longer active in DCS...
BS_Fighter Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Will there be new version for 1.2.1? Cheers To fly with 5fps in the 1.2.1 Version? :megalol:
TZeer Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 :p Actually hogging along with 60FPS, going down to around 40 in high density areas. Currently using the 1.2.0 file.

Kuky Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Will there be new version for 1.2.1? Cheers new file is now attached to first post Read the text in RED and don't complain if you have bad framerate :smartass: 1 No longer active in DCS...
Invader ZIM Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Thanks for keeping up to date with these mods Kuky, I appreciate it!
Megagoth1702 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 to keep playable framerate also edit Graphics.cfg file in DCS World/Config folder and change line 195 from structures = {60, 20000}; to structures = {30, 20000}; What EXACTLY does this actually do? What does the first number tell us? What's the second one? Second one seems like distance. But the first one? Kuky Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 ^^^ Alright, I found out some weeks ago structures values in graphics.cf are actually not used for districts but for buildings/shelters/revetments on airports and things like power lines. The second number is max distance they will be shown and first number is related to something like "how many of those objects will be shown further out towards max distance", don't really know how to word it. Try out setting 10,2000 then 50,2000 and pay attention to airports vehicles and what distance they start showing and you'll know what I mean No longer active in DCS...

Kuky Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 ^^^ I am still using my custom High.lua in 1.2.2 so I think there are no issues with it but to be safe, rename default High.lua to something like High(original).lua then use High.lua you were using in 1.2.1 Mind you, since ED have adjusted High.lua already there is less need to tweak it... only if you want to increase some things more then you can tweak it even more No longer active in DCS...
degoe Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 What does each variable do? Trying to tweak the high.lua file but i have no idea what this for example does land_detailNoise= { Height = 300.0; <------ Slope = 0.0; Also are the values next to field FarDistance the ranges in feet?
