Time for the weekly update!

Continuing work on the UH1 gauge pack (got more focus than the P-51 for now), here's the latest update of what's done:

uh1teaser.png

Alot of work has been done on HawgTouch itself, reworking the key input engine and allowing for clickable actions directly into the sim, with the help of MadTommy we're making quite a nice progress on testing and implementing this system!

Also, coming with the upcoming release, there will be a basic "Profile Editor", which will allow you to create profiles instead of messing with XML files. This is not going to be a "top of the line" editor, but it will allow users to create nice panels without alot of trouble!

Here's a screenshot of the first version:

More updates coming next week :D

Hey this looks great! I'm having an issue though. When I try to run HawgTouch I get an error.

When I did some googling it seems like some people had some issues like this when the path to A-10 in the registry was messed up. I checked in HKLU/Software/Eagle Dynamics/Warthog/ and I don't have anything that resembles a path. (I'm on the Steam version of DCS World)

At this point can someone send me the modified export.lua file? Or can someone send me the key name with the path that HawgTouch is looking for?

Thanks

Hey Case!

Currently, the released HawgTouch version (1.5, and some people with a "half baked" 1.6 release) do not support DCS World natively.

The current build fully supports it and when the REAL 1.6 comes out it will be 100% compatible with new Export.lua and definitions for finding paths and game location.

If you can't wait for the release and want to get HT started immediately, contact me via PM and I'll send you a special build.

I use Helios with CptLOZ's profile on a touch screen monitor. I'm very happy with it. It's easy and intuitive. Would I realize a better experience with Hawgtouch?

"For HawgTouch to work in LOCAL MODE, the SIM must run in Windowed mode"

Is this still a limitation for HawgTouch?

It is but in a very slow pace, I'm having hard time allocating resources to HT with so much going on with work and R/L....it will come out though...I guarantee it :)

Non-standard program files directory

I installed DCS-A10C via steam, and I have a RAID array for data, so my path to A-10 is E:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\DCS A-10C Warthog.

I placed HawgTouch here: E:\Program Files (x86)\HawgTouch.

When I launch HawgTouch, it says data export not found. When I click "Enabled", I get a not found exception saying it could not find the path "\Config\Export\Export.back".

Looks like there might be an issue locating my DCS directory with this non-standard path. Help :)

Posted a download link for 1.6 "half baked" version on main thread and also sent PM's to those who asked. Tell me how it works, I get reports that so far its working beautifully even on 1.2.7.

This version has tons of fixes and alot of new undocumented features. It includes 2 new data files which anyone can edit (along with the export.lua) which will allow you to expand HT functionality indefinitely if you know what you are doing.

At the time of writing, the new version support exports from the following modules: A-10C,UH-1,P-51D,Ka-50

However, this can easily be expanded either officially by me (later on) or by anyone who wishes to put the time to learn how to add support for other modules.

Another new major edition is the alternative command sending mechanism which sends commands directly to the sim without the need to define "keys" in the sim to map to HawgTouch. A few samples are provided with this release and if anyone has questions on how to work with this new system I'm here to answer all your questions :)

Enjoy!

DockTo bottom?

What are the support values for DockTo? I am trying to get BottomRight or LowerRight to work. It seems like it works, but I think its positioning it BELOW the screen. Maybe forgot to subtract the height of the panel from the new position?

Starts of great. Using the 1.5 profile, seconds after I start a flight, the guages start to spin but it then crashes. Any way I can extract a call stack or anything else to help debug

I'm getting alot of complaints that some things just stopped working. I will be taking the time today to review this current version on the latest DCS and make sure it all works and if not, get some fixes out.

Stay tuned.

Gauges work great for me. But I cant get the panels to work. They open up fine, you can see the buttons working when clicking them etc. But it has no effect on the controls inside the Sim. Am I missing something? Everything is unlocked/admin etc. HELP!

Thank you!

Everytime I look, there's something cool to tinker and add onto DCS, like HawgTouch. ClearDark, it's looks great!

I've downloaded V1.5, and also "half baked" MadTommy V1.6.

I'm currently using a two display config, with the 2nd monitor being an old 15" VGA. I'm using Cougar MFD's, with the appropriate extraction.

I figured having a little extra video real estate left on that display, why not try adding another gauge or two. Currently running DCS in Window mode, no issues there. I can also extract and see the fuel gauge via HawgTouch as well.

Unfortunately, the fuel gauge is not displaying anything current as to the fuel level. Just displays, showing a value of 0 for the fuel load.

Was curious if there's anything else I need to do? For reference, here is the .xml file I load, (again, it displays the gauge just fine).

for grins, I'm attaching the gauges that I got to work with 1.2.8. I shrank everything down a bit, so that it'll wedge between my two Cougar MFD's on my 2nd display.

To bad Hawgtouch is no longer supported. Would like to have added the other gauges, but they're are some issues with 'em, and I can't get them to work.

Hawgtouch is very FPS friendly too, (obviously for 2D gauges).

for what it's worth...
