Easy Monitor Configurator

All is solved: Did a complete uninstall of DCS World and EMC, reinstalled DCS world into C:\Program Files(x86)\DCS World (my 32bit side) and installed EMC to the same place. Works great. In my case EMC could not find DCS with the two programs installed in different C:\ based programs. Whatever,it all works Thank all for all your help. see you on the forum.

EMC not displaying

 

Hello,

 

I have configured up EMC, no issues exported LUA's, saved lua, selected the lua as my monitor setup, and turned off full screen. My issue is nothing is showing up still. I'm using Helios its working properly I also have a monitor that is interfacing with all of this as a touch screen. What am I missing here is Easy Monitor Config no supported with touchscreen monitors that's about the only variable I see different from everyone else who mentioned there setup.

Just a thought as you don't mention it but have you set your resolution to cover both monitors, e.g. for two 1920x1080 monitors in a horizontal arrangement it would be 3840x1080 or in a vertical arrangement 1920x2160?

Lol, I know. I just got one myself as I've always found them too expensive but I got a good deal on this one. Just need to sort out my desk so I have room to put it where I want and then no more trying to remember keyboard commands :)

Seems that this EMC doesn't like that if DCS is installed somewhere else than original path. Mine is installed to C:\Pelit\DCS and EMC find it (path is shown at bottom of EMC window)..but EMC don't show A10/KA tabs (only Misc tab is shown) and I can't make config for it.

 

I tried to add register key like this but didn't helped....

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C

Path = C:\\Pelit\\DCS World\\Mods\\aircrafts\\A-10C

 

I have already working config with exported MFD's but I just wanted to test this...

It has to do with the Mods\aircrafts folder being renamed to Mods\aircraft in the latest update:

On your monitor.lua change " ED_A10C_RIGHT_MFCD " for "RIGHT_MFCD".

This fixes the MFCD but I have lost everthing else.

 

Clock, RWR, CMSP, UHF repeater etc . . . . .

Actually the problem is with ED.

 

For some reason, and this has been a nightmare for me for years, they keep changing bits here and there, be it folders, file names, and random strings in the config files. This precise one is a back and forth, it went from generic to specific and now back to generic, so, modders, cheers, enjoy !

 

I understand they're working really hard on making DCSW better, but, frankly, they would benefit a lot from a good, deep, long, meticulous housecleaning. And I remember saying exactly that 2 years ago :D

All you do is swap the aircraft indicator files around as usual from backup folder, then go into your registry where you had to make the entries for paths to a10 and ka, modify path from

[Drive]\\programfiles\ED\ DCSW\mods\AIRCRAFTS\[plane] to AIRCRAFT.

so you should have Path reg_sz "path"="[drive:\\program Files\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World\\MODS\\aircraft\\[plane]

obviously put your drive letter and your plane type in where needed.

PS I only fly the a-10 so this will solve my problem!

I am running DCS World on my G drive under games. I have injected this path into the registry Here is the extracted information

Easy Monitor Configurator still does not work saying that it can not detect the game being installed.

 

I am running Windows 8.1 64bit

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

 

In an attempt to get this working, i copied my entire dcs world to the standard location (below) and attempted to execute the application. It also detected the application was not installed. It would be awesome if they could recompile the application with a prompt perhaps asking for your install folder rather than it telling you its not installed.

Going to attempt to change it to my G Drive location and see if i have any luck.

Changing the location to the G drive worked. Recommend using reg edit to update the path
