Frostie Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 However they are a large collection of folks who have no interest in lite weight sims. Not a majority of the community to be sure by a sizable number who agree with my point of view. The point being that many reasonable people share my viewpoint. These same reasonable people probably also love IL-2 without realising this is just as lite as FC. Ever thought that the agreeing part is just an unwarranted stigma attached by those with Falcon ingrained into their lives, suddenly flicking a few switches makes you a different breed of pilot LMAO. Are you worried that FC3 will infect DCS? Wake up, the AI you love to kill so much in DCS and Falcon is 100% scripted in its operation more so than the functions performed from one key press by a human in FC. So why in your eyes is it Hardcore when the AI do it but suddenly becomes arcade when a human does it? Where FC and DCS are so alike is in pilot behaviour, you get the same result by what you put in. If a FC pilot and a DCS pilot want to communicate, taxi together, take off together, fly in formation and engage the enemy with co-ordination they can with no difference in eithers performance. If your under the illusion that the DCS pilot would be more serious in his business then your woefully wrong. Your inexperience with FC community doesn't give you the credibilty to make that comparison. One of your biggest gripes has been the airquake in large servers, what do you think will be so different in large capacity servers with DCS:fastjet, A-10C etc. only? The difference in extra minutes to take off makes not a jot of difference to how a virtual pilot will perform in the air. When set up and ready to enter the combat zone, to kill an enemy fighter takes a lock and launch no matter how detailed the sim is your flying. The extra tools that come with DCS are never a hinderance. On the pluses for DCS pilots, realistic ECM and ECCM is something that has never been realised anywhere near in a sim, hopefully DCS can get closer to this. Radar modes a plenty, Datalink etc. Its only better to be flying DCS. How can FC affect this? If you want to have your own private flights where organisation and realistic procedures are paramount you can do so, not that it means much to you but its been done for years in FC on a level your obviously unaware of, don't expect it to happen in everyday DCS servers though because a lot of people just want to fly and shoot sh## after a hard days work. This will never change. And if your worried about the nubs that teamkill everyone, well there already in DCS. Please Mr/Mrs/Ms Mower give a valid reason for a change instead of the pointless negative griping/repping. 4 "[51☭] FROSTIE" #55 'Red 5'. Cali Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Excellent post Frostie, the last paragraph says it perfectly. Dudikoff Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I hope we do get the FC3 (Mower's Crusade notwithstanding) since DCS:Flanker (or Fulcrum or whatever Soviet) seems questionable now given the new ED business model? We can surely spare another $30 or so for all the improvements. BTW, if FC3 gets binned because of the high opposing post count on the forums, we know where you live Mower!! More or less, that is.. Steel Jaw Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 (edited) Dear ED, please by all means go ahead with a FC3. However, please charge US$200 for each copy. This should help fund the DCS Hornet I know you are now working on. Viper101 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Dear ED, please by all means go ahead with a FC3. However, please charge US$200 for each copy. This should help fund the DCS Hornet I know you are now working on. Not only a seriously overpriced product, but the next DCS isn't a Hornet. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Steel Jaw Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 the next DCS isn't a Hornet. Yes, it is. And I know it is due to a mistake ED made recently but I shall not dig it up again. shu77 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 What else is new. :megalol: Well I was debating digging out my Mig-29 comic to be honest as it had that kind of vibe to it. Pyroflash Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Photoshopped, none of the people are looking at the Hornet :P If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Laud Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I would take this hint. Hint??? The indian is no hint to ED, it's the Chiefs (355th) squad-patch... Pyroflash Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I think he was referring to the plane itself, not the patch. +1 for Sniper XR. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Dudikoff Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 This should help fund the DCS Hornet I know you are now working on. Would that mistake indicate a Hornet or a Super Hornet? I'd prefer the F-15E, but a legacy Hornet would be cool, too. The Super Hornet is a bit too hi-tech for my liking. i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.
