LMAO

Nice. See you had it all along, it just took a little while.

Now get back to reading the manual...twice!

Thanks all! I just did the tutorial, read the quick start guide and asked a few people some questions on multiplayer mode. I learned how to "trim" on multiplayer mode.

I'm too cheap to buy a joystick. Maybe after I read the manual, I'll buy one. What joysticks do you all use? What do you recommend?

I only have one friend that plays this game. He doesn't even know how to play it.

My video features the best A-10C landing. Period.

rep comin' your way buddy. stomach is hurting from laughing so hard. The best part though, was seeing you actually get better, especially the startup! You are so hooked. Admit it.

Actually, my vote is for best A-10C takeoff. AWESOME. Love how you actually tried to take off from the parking area, but then actually did end up crossing the runway at one point.

Joystick advice--just go to best buy and get the cheapest one. If you end up really geeking out on flight sims, like most of us here on these boards, then you can get something better--

two tips.

1. Try to avoid the tutorials as much as possible. They frustrated me more than anything. I essentially learned just by flying as much as possible and posting on here the specific questions that I had.

2. Buy a joystick. You will not get anywhere without one. Make sure you have a throttle as well. It will serve you well for years, and there are bound to be many more flight sims which you will be able to enjoy within those next years.

This Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X Flight Stick seems reasonably affordable ($34) with more than positive reviews. I'm thinking about getting this one. What do you all have to say about it?

I was playing multiplayer today when I saw a fellow A-10C pass me by with green/red smoke. I asked him how I can get smoke like that. He said LCTRL + W.

I was suspicious so I didn't press it. 5 minutes later, curiosity got to me. I HAD TO SEE WHAT IT DID. So I pressed F2 to see my plane from the outside and then I pressed LCTRL + W. I saw all my weapons fall off.

Gee thanks. I could have used those...

Today, I almost completed the first fast mission (?) level. I think it was easy - Georgian or some thing. I took out EVERYTHING but then I crashed landed at the end.

TM T-flight HOTAS X is more that capable to fly this sim and those to come. I have a Saitek X-52pro and its perfect for DCS Blackshark and almost perfect for A-10C (The most perfect for A-10C is the TM Warthog).

My three year old son saw me watching the video and came over to watch. A10C videos are usually pretty harmless so I let him sit on my lap. He started watching with me at about 1 minute 45 seconds, learnt a new word at 2 minutes 4 seconds and is now walking round the house proudly exclaiming, "The man said xxxx" over and over. I'm just glad he'd jumped off my lap before 2 minutes 16 seconds or he might have learnt an even better word...

LOL. Great vid.

Hilarious video. :)

The stick you are looking at is probably fine, I don't have a first hand experience with it so I can't really say for sure. The best thing about the stick suggested to you is that you do not have to use your keyboard for almost anything in the cockpit, also the game will automatically detect and keymap everything for you which is nice.

If you want to go down in price I have the predecessor to the warthhog, you can buy them on Ebay for a not too steep a price now a days.

Also I would look into a head tracking solution, you basically use your own head movements instead of the mouse to look around in the cockpit.

There is the best and most expensive option which uses IR light to track you:

http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/

There is also this free alternative that uses a webcam and facetracking recognition.

Have fun, me I never read the manual, only looked at tutorials on youtube to get me going. :D

Worst advice ever. Just because they frustrated you doesn't mean anyone else's mileage won't vary.
