My first livery for the A-10C based on a real life A-10A.

I created the camouflage, decals and details.

The basic template was provided by DCS.

I just installed your great skin, but for some reason i cant see it in mission planer

Ive done this

1. Navigate to the following folder - \DCS A-10C\Bazar\Liveries\A-10C

2. Copy the included folder '10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby' to this folder

 

I then did this

3. Navigate to the following folder - \DCS A-10C\Bazar\World\textures

4. Copy the included folder '10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby.zip' to this folder

 

And lastly i done this

5. Navigate to the following folder - \DCS A-10C\Config

6. Open the file 'graphics.cfg'

7. Add the following text to the end of the VFSTexturePaths section and save the file: path = ".\\Bazar\\World\\textures\\10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby";

 

Is this bit correct?

path = ".\\Bazar\\World\\textures\\10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby";

path = ".\\FUI\\Common\\";

path = ".\\FUI\\Common\\Net\\";

 

And is this the name of the skin in game?

10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby?

You did it right and it should show up in the Mission Editor.

 

In the Mission Editor, click on the Payload icon, then on Paint Scheme and there you should my Livery, 10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby.

 

If that doesn't work, check the graphics.cfg again. If you missed one quote or comma, it won't show up. And check that you copied the description.lua file, in the folder 10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby, to the correct destination i.e. \DCS A-10C\Bazar\Liveries\A-10C

This is copy'd from my config file

So if that is right then i cant have missed out any quote or comma's

 

And

folder '10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby, is in

D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Bazar\Liveries

With the lau file inside folder '10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby

I then go to mission planer, click on A10c on the map, and then click on Payload

But the only one i can see is 23rd Tfw england

and not 10th_TFW_Vultures_Europe1_by_Toby

Not sure why its not showing, will have another go tommorow

D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Bazar\Liveries

And not in

D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Bazar\Liveries\A-10C:music_whistling:

MS Notepad is a text editor designed for printed output. Notepad is a text editor designed for editting code.

 

MS Notepad can alter the structure of the file in such a way that the file will not execute correctly. This is not to say that it will break every file but it can introduce problems which will be hard to track down.

 

Notepad++ is also free and is much more useful than notepad for the purposes being discussed here.

In saving files, it does nothing different than the windows default notepad.exe in this case. That's misinformation, "cichlidfan."

I think its generally a good habit to use Notepad ++ and as it is neccessary IIRC to edit lua files then I would be inclined (in fact I do) use it for all editing purposes relating to DCS series;)

It's an old thread but I wanted to say it's the best looking A-10 skin out there, you really captured the true way the Euro One camo looked on operational A-10's.

+1 Reminds me of my childhood watching the A-10s flying in pairs, very low, over my house near Wales. My favourite plane then and still is.

Yes , excellent skin ..... any more camo one planned Toby . Just wish more servers would install skins so we could appreciate them more . I almost never play offline .

This was the only skin that I ever needed or wanted for my A10-C, my next skin will be for the Ka-50.
