Hello,

There's a slight issue with the RAT (Record avi tool) and online tracks that have

been recorded from client's side. The track plays fine using the Replay feature,

but RAT just stays in the F10 screen (map). You can move the map around

and all that, there's no lag, which would indicate that nothing is being recorded

(and can be confirmed by checking the "movies" folder, no files recorded),

you're also unable to switch to any other view from the F10 screen.

My best guess is that RAT doesn't recognize the host's unpause command,

but that's just a guess. Also, the player not being in the game yet, isn't the

issue as I've tried to start the RAT recording from such a time that I know

I am in the game.

This is with BS 1.0.2. (no idea about A-10) and happens with every

client-side track I have.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to add that I'm not the only one with this problem,

user by the name of eXecutor also reported this behaviour in this thread.

Hi Nate,

ok great!!

Perhaps you can ask the dev team to create a changelog for the next patch?

Thanks for everything!

When they know what the changes will be, they will.

It's still very much in development.

Amalahama, you should also post those in the Outstanding major bugs thread to keep the bug list concentrated and help Nate by keeping it as clean to him as possible. :)

1) ABRIS Database save and load functions don't work properly http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=48470 2) Amp-meter and Volt-meter don't work. Batteries have an unlimited life 3) I never had any success getting ABRIS VNAV to work. And it seems I am not alone: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36486 Regards!

1) You must use the Prepare mission function in ME to tell DCS to save the ABRIS info to the mission file.

2) Never modelled AFAIK

3) Please go in to more detail about the problem - what it should do but isn't doing.

Hi Eddie & Nate, Hi all,

here are some examples of the problems :

in this one you'll see streched cockpit when you move your head with trackIR, BlackShark :

in this one you'll also see strange behaviour when you move with trackIR, FlammingCliffs2 :

If you need a surround beta tester for any patch on these 2 sims : I'm available :joystick:

see the comments in the BS video, he did a change in .lua :

"My m8 Steve trying out my new Eyefinity setup with the TrackIR5 & Track Clip Pro. I've compiled a guide to get DCS looking decent:

This guide assumes you have already setup your Eyefinity in Windows. It is aimed at 3 X 24" (1920X1200) monitors running at Eyefinity 5760X1200.

If your resolution is different then it'd be an easy task to amend these settings.

Run blackshark (single player)

Click on the 'Options' menu

Set resolution to 5760X1200 from the drop down list

Set Aspect ratio to: 4.8

Set Monitors: 1Screen

Then exit game completely (If you were to run the game after these changed you'd find your nose would be touching the hud and you can't zoom back,

we need to alter the zoom position.

In windows navigate to the drive/folder where Blackshark is installed, then through to the View folder as such: Ka-50/Config/View

*** Its a good idea to make a backup of the following (SnapViews) file before editing it ***

In the View folder, right click on the file named: SnapViews and select open (open with notepad)

Scroll to the very bottom of this file and look for the following entry:

Snap[9][13]["viewAngle"] = 89.777544238285

Change only the number from 89.777544238285 to 219.777544238285

It should end up looking like the following:

Snap[9][13]["viewAngle"] = 219.777544238285

We need to save the file, click 'save' from the file menu. Exit this file when saved.

Run the Black Shark and jump into instant action. You should now have a good Eyefinity setting for 5760X1200

Enjoy,

XysteR (aka Lee Scott)"

But for me, it's not acceptable, the result is still streched in BS/LOFC2 and NOT in DCS A10C.

Not a bug - every 3d application using DirectX will exhibit this when using a single Viewpoint with a large FOV in a 3d world.

You say this does not happen in warthog? Please illustrate this with 2 screenshots from BS and Warthog with the same FOV. Please highlight the FOV used.

Nate

I was about to make pictures to illustrate the problems.

Here are the pictures.

in both games when using track ir you've got to fully zoomout with the "/" key otherwise you've got the nose in the hud. For me this is a bug in both games.

in a10c, you can move your head in any direction you can also zoom out a bit more moving your head in the rear direction. So when you begin a game, you press "/" until reaching max zoom out, then you put your nose close to the screen, you press F12 to reset track ir 0 position, and after this you can use the simulator nicely (but it's a pain to do that every time).

in bs, you do the same, but the 0 position is closer to the hud, you cannot zoom out moving your head in the rear direction.

I don't know if I'm clear, but it seems the 2 simulators don't have the same behaviour.

thanks,

See above from your post.

EDIT:- BTW if it works in Watrhog OK it will be the same in the Black shark Upgrade.

this shadowing (fix) that is being talked about...

(I had no idea there was going to be cockpit adjustments.. didn't know anything needed fixed..) maybe it's just trying to be perfected? in any case..

those shadows,, is this something the people using TrackIR would find more usefull ? more realistic? Myself, I never even thought about shadows in the cockpit... I don't use TrackIR, my freinds all rave about it,, but I tried an old version afew years ago, and found my self not happy with it at all,, and I blame myself, I just can't keep my head still.. and so,, I wasn't awarte that the Black Shark cockpit was in need of any fixing.. I guess I am not obersvant enough or just happy with the staus quo..

Of course I had many questions about the flight model, and the auto rotation stuff sounds like others also wanted to know about that not being as good as it should be..

This is the first time I started looking into what the patch might have...

Thanx for the patch and updates...

I am looking forward to the excellent work!

3) Please go in to more detail about the problem - what it should do but isn't doing.

Well, basically when you make a new flightplan inside the simulator,VNAV refuse to work, ABRIS won't calculate your top of climb etc. You can argue that it works with the standard flight plan as it has been made up in the mission editor, but it must be seen as a bug, since it's not the way the real thing works. I don't think it has a easy workaround though.

Will Ka-50 pilots have the ability to bring in SEAD, air cover and will we need to tune the radios to contact tower's at different airbases, (please say yes, I don't like everything being on one frequency:)

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Good question about the radio tuning a la WH!

Posted

Well if BS is going to be online compatible with WH, then either WH will switch to all towers being on the same freq. , or BS will have to get a bit of an update....hmmmmm....

I'm just sayin'.

Earlier I started creating a mod that gives you real life frequencies for BS, I'm still missing three towers, could just make some up. :)
