Does anyone know if there's a way to auto lock mavericks to an spi?

Its really annoying trying to slew for a lock when having to deal with long range sams.

You mean Medium-Range SAM systems?

Forced Correlate.

A radar jammer makes any sam a medium range one.

Sorry winz could you explain that in a step by step way with keyboard commands?

Currently I use my target pod to make an spi, then hold v to match up the maverick targetting pod, auto stabilise the maverick and then slew. It would be so much easier to be able to fire the maverick without having to slew it to make it lock on to a target.

Tell me you're not serious :D

In SIM:

Short-Range SAM systems:

9M331 Tor - well within Maverick stand-off range. Lock and Kill without any need for countermeasures.

Osa - well within Maverick stand-off range. Lock and Kill without any need for countermeasures.

Tunguska - well within Maverick stand-off range. Lock and Kill without any need for countermeasures.

Medium-Range SAM systems:

Kub, Hawk and Buk SAM's - All defeated with Forced Correlate tracking by destroying search radar from stand-off range (10nm).

Did I miss any? Oh yes - as stated above, TMS Fwd Short to toggle Mav from a non-tracked state to a tracked state.

whats that on the keyboard?

It is whatever your mapping says it is. ;) (I don't have that one available right now.)

Check uner "HOTAS" in the control mappings and you'll find it in the list. ;)

I strongly suggest that you start thinking about controls in terms of their HOTAS positions though. Even if you have to use the keyboard, you will be extremely confused by a lot of things otherwise. This would allos you to just look at the HOTAS charts in the manual and thus find any function you need. :)

What if none of this works?

I´m using keyboard also and I can´t find key bindings for China Long and Tms Short in settings. It just isn´t there :(

Edit:

Even by using V it doesn´t work properly.

1. I make SPI with TGP point track

2. then go to MAV and when I hold V it alligns with waypoint, not TGP SPI

right mfd is SOI all the time, what am I missing here?

Wait - when you "hold V" (China Hat Forward Long) you are slewing all sensors to your SPI. Why then are you slewing your Mav around? It should already be on your target, which is what you just marked as your SPI with the TGP.

You are not setting the SPI properly. The Mav is slewing to the Steerpoint which is the default SPI.

Confirm in the HUD that the TGP is indeed the SPI-Generator (lower left of HUD) and further confirm that the SPI is indeed your target as per the 'tadpole'/line extending from the TGP diamond on the HUD.

You can toggle the Mav to track in one of two ways:

1 - Slew and release: Mav seeker will then track target if tracking parameters are met.

2 - TMS Fwd Short to force track.

Mohamengina is utilizing method #1.

This is what I mean in that you need to think of them as HOTAS commands, NOT keyboard presses. there is no such thing as China Forward/Aft Long/Short or TMS Up Short/Long. The China switch is a physical switch on the throttle, check pages 86 to 93 in manual.

You go into HOTAS in the control settings, check the bindings for China. China forward short is pressing whatever key combo gives China forward. China forward long is HOLDING that key combo for a minimum of one second.

Same for everything else, there's no "TMS Up Short" or "TMS Up Long", there is only "TMS Up". If you press the TMS Up quickly you get "TMS Up Short", if you hold it for one second you get "TMS Up Long".

Aha that makes sense now!

Now it´s working, I didn´t hold SPI button long enough:)

To make something SPI with TGP you need to press TMS Up Long. I don't think you did that because it still returns you to the waypoint and you say that TMS Up doesn't work for you.

TMS Up is Lctrl+Up (Ingame it looks like the TMS moves to the right but I think that's just a bug).

Edit: Ok seems you got that solved already ;-)

Its not possible. Whats doable, is to slew maverick to TGP or coordinate SPI (from 9-line) and deisgnate target. If you come inside lock range, it automatically locks and youre cleared hot. Because seeker resolution is inferior to TGP at longer than 5 miles, yor best bet is with TGP. Further, if you could designate to other flight elements, why waste your own payload? I let them SEAD and CAP boys sweep clean before I ingress. If they freeze, I always have their SPI on my TAD and I could slew and engage. Usually you get a qeue on radio like engaging sam at bulls whatever, and all you gotta do next is to check TAD.
