Alphamale Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I haven't experimented much with this so, just asking. If so, can you also perform belly landings in water?

Alphamale Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 No - you come to an immediate stop and sink. Drats, I was sorta hoping you'd skip along the water before you start to sink.

cichlidfan Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 No - you come to an immediate stop and sink. Although I have no doubt that is what is supposed to happen. I have a post somehwhere in object errors showing an A-10 not interacting correctly with the water. The plane does sink eventually but it does not crash and you can watch the altitude go negative for quite a while once you are underwater. vrv Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 (edited) After doing some gun runs on the range I RTB'd to re-arm but through messing around with the dynamic weather values I somehow caused some kind of epic crosswind vortex thing to occur around Koubleti. Needless to say I found my nose to my 3 o clock and my aircraft heading at 12 o clock doing some kind of Hawg drifting maneuver. I slammed into the runway at around 200+ mph and slid off into the grass for about half a mile. No damage except for the landing gear but if hitting the pavement at that speed is definitely a belly landing. cichlidfan Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Did something similar once. Jona33 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 The UAZ however is brilliant :D. You can do J-turns and everything. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
Aries Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 you can on the ground.. ;) i slid in the other day, thought my gear was down...doh! that's what that warning alarm was for. LOL!!! Same happened to me after some air refuelling training... My lead & I coming in together really gently and then this ugly alarm wouldn't turn off for God knows what reason... then my A-10 stopped so fast, impossible for it to be such a gentle landing... It hit me just then, gear not deployed... :D:D:D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
