The friction wheel is an axis, so you need to assign it from the axis screen which is accessible from the drop down menu.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Joker73, I struggled with this for awhile too; the problem was that directly binding the axis in-game caused the zoom function to be unstable whenever I moved the friction slider. Try this instead:

KeyAxis(&Throttle,THR_FC,0,AXMAP2(LIST(0,40,60,100),Zoom_in_slow,0,Zoom_out_slow));

It creates a band from 40-60% of throw that does nothing, but 0-40 zooms in, while 60-100 zooms out. Works fine for me.

I must create this string and put it somewhere in the a10 directory?

How are you using the Warthog? Are you loading a profile through either the TARGET GUI or Script Editor first? That config line I posted would be used in a TARGET Script Editor profile. If you're not doing either one of those, your friction slider may not automatically show up as mappable within DCS. At a minimum, you'll need to start up the TARGET GUI and make sure your friction slider is mapped as a valid DirectX axis.

So bottom line is -- although a lot "just works" by simply plugging in the Warthog and starting up DCS, I don't think the friction slider is one of them, and requires some manual setup steps outside of DCS first.

There's no need for TARGET to use the friction slider. However, you might run into the ame issue I had: if you have many controllers connected, you might not see the Warthog-THROTTLE device. Use the scroll bar at the bottom to select the THROTTLE, select AXIS at the top of the dialog, then assign you axis. Make sure you travel all the way up and down with the slider.

Good luck!

I also loaded whilst in DCS the warthog controller profile as on the axis page the slider was greyed out.

Just to reiterate you do not need to use target or the script software.

I don't get it.

I had this working on my previous computer.

I have configured the slider exactly as mentioned in this thread, but the view will not zoom.

In windows gamecontrollers the slider is working. All other buttons, sliders axis etc. are working in the sim. I deleted the controller files to reset the HOTAS configuration. no joy.

any idea's?

thanks

Just a quickie on this thread.

My question is 'Where do I find the T.A.R.G.E.T. software? I have installed my TM Hotas, all works well......but I cannot find a 'Thrustmaster' file in my computer>programs> etc.

Any help appreciated.

You have to install target. You can download the latest version from here: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=311&cid=5

Thanks very much. I thought it may have installed when the HOTAS was installing itself......it all happened a bit quick, and was so effortless! Loving the TM Hotas though. just getting to grips with all the functions :joystick:

Warthog Slider zoom

I have been having this issue in DCS World since a few patches ago. I bought the Warthog and was using the Slider for zoom and it worked 100 with no issue. Now when i try to use it, it goes from 0-100% and i can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to zoom in smoothly again. So if anyone has a fix can you please walk me threw it

Set your deadzone to 15-20 that is where the detents are located. If you want to zoom all the way in and out.

x100

y100

curva 0

I don't want to zoom out to fish eye. Only want to zoom in as much as possible so I made my axis a "slider" and set

deadzone 0

x 74

y 100

cur 0

Hope that helps

Hi Guys,

just asking (maybe suggesting) without having a Warthog joystick (just an X-52): why is it better to assign "zoom" to an extra axis of a joy or throttle, than assigning "zoom" to Track IR's Z axis (replacing default "Camera Movement FWD/AFT")? I dunno if you can do it with Oculus, but for sure you can with Track IR, making it much more natural and intuitive to use your head for POV control. Just my 2 cent, disregard if bad idea...
