Andrew_McP Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 A Brit called Ken Duffy is reporting his recent trip to Russsian airbases & shows. I just saw his link on the rec.aviation.military newsgroup, and I thought I'd pass it on. The main report is... http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/visits_pages/moscow_2005.html But the best shots are on his Lipetsk page... http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/visits_pages/mos2005_day02.html He was at MAKS 2005 too. So there should be more great pictures to follow. Andrew McP

Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 i just looking at that picture of the 2 seater 25ub, whats that thing sticking up on the canopy above the second seat, is it a mirror ? ive seen it before but ive always wondered what it is as ive never seen a close up of the actual thing i am speaking about to determine what it is.... I presume the back seat is for the teacher and the front seat for the student and ive always thought it was a mirror for the teacher for taxing and such like...
GoonerTC Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Awesome... Looks like it kicked the ass out of Fairford this year...
EvilBivol-1 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 ...whats that thing sticking up on the canopy above the second seat... Its a periscope. Check out this quick video for a nice view of what it might look like from inside the cockpit (although here it is from a MiG-29UB). http://www.fulcrum-staffel.de/Video/Nachtlandung.AVI Thanks for the links guys, nice photos! - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy.
