this is something i am longing for with this sim buddy a2a refueling with the su-33 with the advanced flight model making for realistic simulated carrier traps and operations with simulated weights thus the need for the buddy refueling system.

the new a2a refueling with 1.1 is fantastic but i would like to see just that bit more. the buddy su-33 refuel.

if you dont know what im talking about see this video cut.

i hope this can be done..

Salute and thanks for reading.

wasn't this taken from the kutz video? I thought it was only for simulated refueling or testing. It sounds silly to have one su33 refuel another.. but who knows

I was thinking of the same thing yesterday. It would be nice to see this in lomac. Ed just have to make a tanker model to fit below the Su-33 and assign to key to deploy the gas.

A-6E's and K/A-6D's used to do it all the time. F/A-18's refueling each other is commonplace as well. I agree it does seem silly to see two of the same aircraft drogueing off each other, but its not as silly as you may think. I do hope this feature is implimented. Very cool.

Yes I agree - it would be great to have this feature modelled for the Su-33 :) .

I dont think it would be much of a problem to give the AI controlled Su-33 this capability(we already have the necessary code for the IL-78M). I guess the problem would be in how to go about this for the player controlled aircraft. Either you would need to design a "tanker routine" for the player controlled Su-33, or alternatively find some way of seperating AI and player available tasks for this aircraft. I think the simplest way of going about the latter would be to have a "mirror" AI-only Su-33 entry.

The Su-24M can also buddy-refuel ;)

Yes thats right :)

I'd like to see an Ai su33 with a buddy refuel pack (that metal box with lights)

Hehe...it is called "UPAZ" :) . It is a universial refuelling pack(airflow driven pump and hose assembly), and is the same one used by the IL-78M(up to three), Su-24M and MiG-29K...

alfa in refueling i most definatly would like to see player 2 player.

the way i see it working as a few have mentioned already is the -pod- is attached and a command issued by the player either like alt+G is for the hook say ctrl G could be for extending the basket. so rather the script/ code instead of relating to the plane it is the -pod-

Then it shouldn't be so hard to implement, or what JJ? :)

Well I am not much of a programmer, so I dont know mate :) . But as far as providing an AI Su-33 with tanker capability, I dont think it would be that difficult given the code already done for the IL-78M.

It would obviously require more for a player controlled tanker functionality - but how difficult it would be to design and implement I dont know.

It's a nice idea, but it won't happen unless ED decides to support MP refuelling AFAIK.

Yes that could be good fun to have :D

I am not sure if I understood you correctly, but such a code would have to be integrated with the player FM like for any other system available for a particular aircraft. Pods do not come with seperate code assigned to them - e.g. you can edit the pylon compatibility of a MiG-29 to carry the Mercury LLTV pod, but it does not provide you with a working LLTV functionality when flying it :) .

Like GG said it won't happen, ED has too much on their plate to worry about this. We can't even A2A refuel now, because they say it's not supported. But we all know if you get close enough to the tanker you see the probes.

the code section you may be refering would probably be similar the S-3B ?

if you select task refueling the payload becomes locked and the refuel pods added this would be ok as long as it was still selectable as client.. or player.

imagin playing the campaign and your tasked with extending the flight of other su-33's now that would be a welcome twist in a campaign.

Why would refueling from an Su33 be different (code wise) from refueling from an IL78? ...

Because you can do aerobatics while refuelling in an Su33.
