I'm just glad that the Rook is still being worked on.

I'd love to have a little more modability (eg. a few extra slots), but basically upgrading the Rook to have current features is great!

Please accept nothing but official updates. To my knowledge, ED has never mentioned specific updates to the Su-25.

What current features?

FC3!! this is great news as i still play fc2 far more than Dcs ka50 and a10, not that there is anything wrong with dcs.

FC2 is just so easy to jump on for a spare hour or so where dcs you need to really sit down and think about what you’re going to do lol

"We plan to include several upgrades to the aircraft, a resource management system, and several other new features."

Does this mean that SU-27/33 able to carry R-77 missiles? Will we get another one flyable plane? Perhaps a better optimized simulation and higher FPS? Will be improved tracks playback?

Is the rumor true that I have to buy LO:FC2 just to be able to buy and use LO:FC3!?

Do they not want customers? No way I'm buying two games just to play one no matter how good they are.

FC3 requires the installation of LockOn: Modern Air Combat to meet the legal requirements of agreements with Ubisoft. Eagle Dynamics has no other option.

FC2 requires LockOn, so you still need LockOn. I still have no idea why they worded it that way.

I assumed he meant it for those that have FC2 but deleted lockon after installing fc2, I'm really hoping we find out tomorrow :-D or at least before I spend all my money on the iPhone 5 lol

FC3 will be integrated into DCS: World.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Does anyone know if you need an active internet connection for LAN play with FC3? This is a real let down in DCS A10c when playing at flight sim venues with no internet available.

You don't need internet to my knowledge when playing on LAN. Launch the Multiplayer client, and then when the login box appears, click "Cancel", and then click the "LAN" tab. This should work.

Not true. All DCSW products now require multiplayer authentication with the master login server - even for LAN play.

Which is a bit of a bugger...

At a LAN event where there is no internet = no LAN play and showing off a great sim to people.

FC3 installer will likely check either for LOMAC's or FC2's executable file.

'Legally' that comes down to LOMAC since owning FC2 means owning LOMAC as well ! This is the best ED can do ;)

LAN should definitely work on "wired" network with no internet access.

Connection to the Master Server is required for all types of Multiplayer activity, including LAN.

Just out of curiosity: where do people go where there's no internet? Hiking in the himalayas?

(Serious question! The concept of being in a place where there's no connection is something I've only seen pretty much once in ages - and that was when I was in a car through sibiria this winter. :P )

Anywhere there is unreliable rural internet or where it is prohibitively expensive.

Single USB Cellular dongle connected to a router on the LAN?

Remember, for the purpose you don't need a "good" connection, you just need to be connected at all. Even 2G signal is fit for purpose.
