WildBillKelsoe Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) Someone had too many beers to drink.. Or too much Benjamins to spend.. Anyways, I will probably get the P-51D first. What do you recommend for the color code? Oh, and to moderators, sorry, but I couldn't help it.. Also, I'm thinking of attending the Flying Legends in July, so if any of you are showing up, we would probably have some sort of beacon to unite us.. Perhaps ED would have a booth there... TheThumper Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) Thats funny, I was just looking at the A10 model from Revell last night.... Now I have to go and add the Ka-50... thanks! Edit: Couldn't get the Ka-50 with Prime shipping, so just got the A10... can't wait to start building..... Also note: If you ever build a Remote Controlled one of these, the grey paint scheme is great, till you launch it! I will say that paint scheme makes it hard to tell if the plane is coming or going. Good luck with your build! Edited February 19, 2012 by TheThumper ~Thump. Computer Specs: i7-6700K@4.00GHz, 32GB, 850 EVO 1TB, GTX 1080 Ti, Samsung Odyssey VR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

derelor Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) Is this a scale of 1/72? I assume these are your models? It's a (relatively expensive) wood model from www.modalar.de - scale 1:40 IIRC. They only show the A-10A on their website, but they will also make A-10C's. I will also let them build a P-51D for me - still looking for a nice paint scheme. Any recommendations? Edited February 19, 2012 by derelor 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU

Speed Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 We all have something, different, huh? This is how much I love DCS: I pasted the current version of Slmod I'm working on into MS Word, just to see what the word count and number of pages was. It's going to get longer too, before it's done :) Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. PeterP Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 That's what I call dedication! hats off! (I hope the next one won't post is divorcing papers he got because of "spend too much time with DCS" just to top the above :P).

Can't wait to see the model assembled . I was a huge fan military aviation too. Had a F-117A and F-16 model made by Tamiya. My dream model was the huge B-52 but I couldn't afford it :P Anyway that was oh so long ago. I still am a fan, just somehow my hobby these days is restricted to just playing flight sim like the DCS A-10 :joystick:
WildBillKelsoe Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Update 2: Journal entry 1- Blackshark- Day 1 So, today, I went ahead and bought few acrylic (non-modelling) paints (those used by artists). Judging from what I hear, they are better than modelling acrylics *fingers crossed* Anyways, here is 'the package' before embarking on to work. Package opened. 2 Sprue held sets, a decal of 2 sets "Red star" and "Russian Flag", plus the clear plastic parts of signal lights and cockpit windshield, etc.. Seat assembled without fuselage attachment (the B rectangle). At this juncture, I decided to stop, and proceed ahead with a 'test' application of the purchased acrylic. So I painted the handle of the stick black, leaving the wheel brake unscathed for a dark grey layer, and the shaft light grey for metal. I will boot Ka-50 now since it's been a while since I last played it (recently moved on to A-10C, and the Mustang). The front dash needs some work on the HUD collimator but OK for now.. One thing I'm so worried about, is that the acrylic wouldn't dry.. End of journal entry 1 AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below.
