wait animations doesnt work? works fine for me. pick arg based in the motion tab, then pick the arg number, click autokey, move slider, then move/ rotate pieces

not really sure. I know the arg plugin can be tricky sometimes. Ive have an animation disappear before..

The previous Max's use a different Animation assignment method. Since Max2008 you have to assign the argbased animation first than second step you have to assign your animation "assign controller" section the eulerXYZ for the previously defined event for correct animation .

Interesting to know. I have always assigned the controllers first in the animation tab. Even with the LOM plugins

Hey LuckyBob, just a small remark on newer MVs:

Arg value slider give only minus/plus 0.999 "output" values with maximum left/right moves on the slider line while the predetermined max values are OK: minus/plus 1.00

 

I was told this is working properly again in version 62153 and above. Everyone should download the newest version.

Dont use bump maps, use Normal Maps. If you use photoshop, you can automatically generate them by using this plugin: http://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop

Peyvolt, check the box labeled "Convert to Tangent Space Normal Map" via the "Normal Map Settings" button in the dds plugin before exporting. Continue to use the "default" material type unless you particularly want your surface to have a strange metallic/reflective sheen to it.

EDMPlugin 63167 create wrong EDM file again. Latest working version: 62806

00044.069 ERROR NGMODEL: The following exception was caught: Wrong version of model file vfs:///models//JAS-39C.edm.. During loading of: vfs:///models//JAS-39C.edm.

00044.069 ERROR NGMODEL: Can't load lod JAS-39C.edm of model jas-39c. Reason: Can't read model from file.

 

ModelViewer test correct, but in-game model is invisible :doh:

A few others have run into this as well and had to roll back their plugins. I believe this is a known issue and hopefully will be fixed soon.

Can I pick up the argbased controller topic again?

I am unable to find this controller in 3ds. I have Audio, Euler etc.. but not the argbased one.

Do I have to activate it somewhere or even download it?

 

The Plug-In Manager shows an "Argument Based Controller" (ARGBASEDCTRL2.DLC) as loaded...but I can't use it :(.

 

I'am using the 2011 version.
