I can see through my wings, when I zoom in, they revert to normal. Id post a screenshot, but I cant locate that folder either. Umm...what settings do I mess with to correct this?

I take it back...I cant save a screenshot either.

Just a laptop, HP Pavilion DV7 on a ssd drive and radeon 6880.

Wow , imagine the possibilities with over wing weapons pylons to bolster up the normal ones . Woohoo ............. maybe we could throw on a couple of Amraams !!!

I used to have this problem with Flaming Cliffs 2 every time I Alt Tabbed out of the Program to desktop and returned to FC2.

I'm not seeing this in DCS-A10.

I have a Radeon 5770 the current catalyst driver I'm using is Version 12.3

Hate to be cliché but have you checked to see if there are any new drivers for your machine ? http://www.amd.com

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both.

A DxDiag would be a good start, along with any relevant game settings you use, any profiling you have active through driver etcetera. ;)

Resolution is at 1600x900. I usually just leave my visual settings alone in CCC, so they are at the default settings. In game graphics are set at high with medium terrain distance (not relevant), all shadows in high. Screen resolution is 16.9 or whatever. Usually it was an aspect ratio problem in FC, but it just looks like a shader problem to me. Like I said, the problem goes away when I zoom in.

silly question but have you changed any settings in the graphics.cfg or your view setting?

Did you install any mods?

have you updated DX?

Did you install the old version of net frameworks?

Not sure if you have tried any of those. But during the install it would of asked if you wanted to install the earlier version of net frameworks. Back in the Beta of A10 it was required to install some of these things to correct issues.

If i think of anything else I will post.

Hm, It looks like either Dx or a game install issue - both which can propagate into the settings config folder.

Have you tried to:

1. Rename "\Saved Games\DCS A-10C" to "DCS A-10C.old" and tested again?

2. Do the rename after a uninstall and full reinstall - before you start the DCS for the first time?

Oh, and don't forget the Visual C++ 2008 it installs - remember to run a Windows Update after they have been installed.

If the settings remain between installations, it can in some situations influence a new install as well.

Everythings up to date...brand new computer, brand new software, separated partition on an SSD drive with a fresh install. That pic was before any adjustments were made to my settings. Changing them stayed the same.

So after you took that pict (which may include some borked files somewhere) - you have renamed the config folder, uninstalled / reinstalled and tested again?

In such a situation I would ahve been tempted to cross-check with another GPU - but I guess you don't have another available?

How about saving the full DxDiag as a textfile, and attaching it here - perhaps we can spot something in it. The short version you posted previosuly didn't quite give us the full picture.

Something to try: check your CCC, if adaptive anti-aliasing is enabled try changing it to multi-sampling AA.

And that is a negative, devil leader, the pattern is dirty.

After viewing the posts here on "Graphics Glitches" it seems the error your card is giving you was fixed mainly by Reseating the card. I ended my search after about 12 pages you may want to head over there and look further.

Dust was also a fix for the glitches you have, DX 9 install with the C++ update. but you have done those. Or at least you say DX is Updated this does mean you installed DX9 right? your image shows a DX11 install.

If you check the first post you'll find Hitman is using a laptop, so reseating the card is a no go.

Not sure about text filing, but heres the full monty.

As for using another GPU, its a laptop, so no bueno.

Just checking through your dxdiag and i notice some oddness about this line in particular

"Driver Name: igdumd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igdumdx32,igd10umd32,igd10umd32"

you say you use a radeon 6880? what AMD Catalyst version does it say you use in your CCC?

edit: checked your dxdiag again, i see you're using Catalyst 11.3 - another option now would be to try the latest driver, see this thread

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=86550

you'll need to grab the mobility driver from the list in the first post.

Ok, so I did that, and I downloaded the correct drivers. Incompatible correct drivers. 1-1=0

Why the hell did I buy a laptop?

Posted (edited)

I'm sorry to read your trouble - and I also have no solution...

Why the hell did I buy a laptop?

Yes! - Why?!

- funny mood?

- bored and too much time?

- just because you could?

- it had fancy nice and shiny logos/stickers on it?

-...

please elaborate! :P:D
