OR!! go off topic bigtime? So... how's the weather? lol

As it being the 16th of October, thus usually horrific weather over here in The Netherlands, I just spent an excellent 2 hours with the Housegoddess and the Labrador walking in the woods, seeing phesants, mating hedgehogs (one of my favourite animals), generally enjoying the fact that life is plain fantastic!!

Not paticularly interesting here this weekend, but last Sunday we got about 12 inches of snow. Today, its already 60 degrees, and the snow...well...you wouldn't even know we had any a few days ago.

To take away my ignorance, where do you live?

Denver, Colorado. As we often say here, "If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes and it'll change" :D

I bet your skiing goes well!! Damn, must be a great thing living there!

Bbcats, Black Bears, the works!!!

Edit: the mountain lions!! :icon_weed

Bobcats? Black bears? BAH!!! The cougar (mountain lion) is the one you have to watch out for. The problem is...they are such good stealth predators that you don't even know a cougar is there until he is sinking his teeth into the back of your neck. Skiing is fun, but expensive, I don't do that very much.

Edit: Heh...didn't see your edit before I posted.

Whoa..."rogue ARH missiles"? I missed this before, apparently, but, what do some people expect?...a robot that has better judgment than the human who set it in motion in the first place? There is a reason it is called Mad Dog in a visual launch, or a Pitbull when it goes active from command inertial...don't get in front of it...it'll bite you. Is this the "bug" that someone is leaving for? Just for those who don't know, its not a bug, an active ARH missile doesn't care much about who you are...so "rogue" behavior is fairly realistic.

No, it is not. The problem is real. It involves missles being active that shouldn't be active, missles that have a field of view much larger than they should, and missles that have acquired a target yet that target gets no warning (this appears to happen if the missle loses lock on a target and acquires a second target.)

ED is addressing at least some of these problems in the patch. However, I don't think they have ever admitted the no warning problem.

For those of you who don't want to see this thread, don't click it.

I'm sorry Goya, but the radar of an ARH missile itself does not usually trigger a warning on the RWR IRL. Look...I don't mean to offend you or your squadmate, but, to me, its kind of silly to set a time limit and then leave, without really expressing any specific criticism.

The 'no warning' problem may well just be internet related ... I am aware that one 'no warning' problem was fixed already, but of course there may easily be more.

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

I would agree: a big risk of Fox 3 missiles is that in a merged situation with multiple planes you easily could be locked by a teammate's missile in the end game. Since we're talking anout the last seconds of flight, where the missile is active, even if you would suddenly get a warning it would mostly be to late.

I have played this sim since it first hit the shelves met some great and interesting people especially my squad the S77th.

I say goodbye now simply because for me its time to move on.

Before I leave i will tell you all why.

I waited for 9 months before eagle dynamics released its first patch to fix the bugs in this sim.I flew the 15 as I always did and for all the people who have been here from the start remember it was a deathtrap.

I waited equally long for another patch and still the bugs were not properly corrected.

I got flamming cliffs and still the bugs were not corrected.

A new patch was promised towards the end of spring early summer and still its not available.

Eagle dynamics has proven to me that they dont support their product but rather want their hand in your pocket.

The poorest customer support i have ever witnessed in a gamming community.

To everyone I have played with and against I <S> all of you.

To eagle dynamics I say never again.

Ahhh man!

Do ED owe you or something?

They made their game, you bought it.

Just be glad someone got off their asses and made it.

Anyways Lockon has brought me much joy, just love that LOMAC flying feeling!

I believe when you buy their product, then ED _do_ owe you something.

With that sort of attitude its a wonder this community receives patches at all.

Such views can lead to software companies perpetrating all sorts of half finished rubbish on consumers knowing that they don't have to make good on any expectations.

Be happy, but don't become complacent. There is always room for improvement :)

Community pressure directed in a positive manner will usually get developers to provide a product that paying consumers are happy with.

I honestly dont think ED owe any of the customers. It's their choice to part with their cash and enjoy LOMAC for what it is. It may not match expectations but thats expectations for you. Sure encourage progress but dont act like they owe you.

Depends on what you define 'owe' as. If you mean a fully functioning product as intended, then yes they do. Sometimes 'as is' is not good enough and is not a product people should part with their cash for and sometimes the only way to find out is to buy something. I wait for the first patch in anything before I buy, just to make sure they play ball.

However if you mean 'owe' as in more than what is fair play (ie. We want more than honestly entitled, rather than we should already have), then no they don't.
