mmaruda Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 From what I'm seeing here, it seems like DCS World has a bright future ahead of itself. ED really hit the jackpot with this 3rd party addons thing and possibility of implementation. I'm really hoping this sim turns into something like a military FSX. Just seeing that Eagle fly makes way overenthusiastic about DCS. There is a ton a talented modders out there (just check out the SAS community for IL-2) that could really bring a ton of planes to this, even if they're only on FC level rather than DCS.
ALDEGA Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 You can make anything you want and put it in the DCS world, if you know how. This was already possible in Lockon 1.0. In DCS you can also control land vehicles, if you know how. ;) But, that is not, repeat, is not what happened here.Aircraft = client trick?

104th_Crunch Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I'm really hoping this sim turns into something like a military FSX.. Hmmm... where have heard someone say that before? :) Really though, it's pretty obvious that something like that is a great idea for ED. Think of the high quality addons out there for FSX. Who in their right mind would spend time developing combat aircraft for FSX, when they can make something for DCS that has weapons modelling! Saying that, I wonder if advanced modelling for missiles is ready for these mods. Another idea for ED would be to sanction 3rd party mods that have to do with other aspects.of the sim. Maybe a 3rd party dev to do a dedicated server, online persistant stats etc.
213 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 the counter argument to that might be that fsx has a better weather model, better civilian traffic modeling, a contiguous global terrain, among other things i'm sure. what i mean to say dcs still has some distance to go before reigning supreme.
Blaze Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 True, but the future of DCS is looking very bright for sure. :) i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. blackbaron Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Come on people, its easy. Open mission editor Place ANY plane on the map set pilot skill to client Save the mission Run the Multiplayer.exe Make either a LAN or Internet server and hop in the plane. As far as i know all planes you make flyable this way use the SU-25T cockpit. I tried this with the F-18C it let me spawn and everything, but none of the controls worked? :joystick:
