You only have to look at the Beczl Mig-21 thread to see how popular it is. I'm surprised at the marketing because it seems to me if you want to develop software you develop it to sell not for your own preferences. Maybe they know something we dont? Perhaps French Rafale might be popular niche product? Tornado was multinational No F-16, loads of countries flying him! Pikey Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Let's have a guess about helicopters on the menu. Right now Beczl is having some "ED time" with his air to air radar and the AFM SDK. When this is done I'm guessing ground radar or two seats might get a closer look. Once they are done i think the opportunity is there. Mouse Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 What single-seat Russian planes should they do? The MiG-29, Su-27, Su-33 are all part of the LOMAC package. From what I can tell, there are probably legal issues with Ubisoft that prevent them from doing those aircraft outside of FC3. The MiG-21bis is of course already being done, and done well from what I can see. We already have an Su-25T in DCS too, and for free. (Ubisoft might have a noose around the neck of that aircraft's non-FC3 commercial development too.) So we've got two Russian aircraft and a third on the way if you ignore FC3, compared to only one US aircraft. (I'm leaving out the P-51D here, of course, but also the L-39.) Sure there are a lot of non-Russian aircraft planned by 3rd parties, but that's all easier said than done. I expect we'll see the MiG-21bis long before anything serious from anyone else, and that will give fans of Russian hardware a fighter, close air support aircraft, and attack helicopter. That's a pretty good mix of stuff. I'd think aircraft newer than those in LOMAC would be hard to get information on. In my mind that leaves the MiG-27 (or -23) and MiG-31 (or -25) as the best choices, and the Su-17 or Su-15 as runners up. On the other hand, I'd like to see more European hardware first, which I think has been neglected for a long, long time by combat flight sims. I'd rather see a Tornado, Mirage 2000 or even a Mirage F1.

The whole USA plane fest is getting a bit boring. When Flanker was released the main reason a lot of people got into it, was that the market was dominated with US jets. Russian jets are something ED became famous for, I just hope they can get back to the roots one day.

You say too much A2G but almost all the planes you said are attack aircraft.. ;) Tornado is not multirole at all, a Tornado IDS can't to A2A while an ADV can't attack ground tagets. It's like the Mirage 2000-5 and the 2000D. BTW the ADV variant is not really interesting: Skyflash/Sparrow are inefficient and it's not a good dogfighter. You can also dream for the Super Flanker, we should hope an earlier and less classified version like Su-27SM or UBM (two seater hell yeah :thumbup:), maybe some Su-30M or M2? They own the rights to original LOMAC package, which they refused to support further development on. The FC release was an Unofficial addon to LOMAC, and ED has the rights to do whatever they want to the T-Toad. Technically ED even has the rights to re-develop the 27/33/25/29/15/10A for DCS as long as no original Ubi content is used in the development process. Indeed, do not forget that our A-10C was for a long time, slated as an A-10A release until the AF decided to help with further development of the -C project. -------- What I really want to see is the F-CK-1A in DCS.
