Enable Ambient Occlusion!

It seems to be buggy... at some angles...the AO flickers on and off.

yep... looks like this and reduce the FPS from 60 to 30... ouch.

Proper AO support would really make DCS look cool. Hopefully they can implement it with the EDGE IG.

Im sorry for reviving this old thread, but I really like the AO effect in games and after making some test it seems like there is no way to make this work in new 1.5.2 version of the game :cry:...I have tried doing what this post says and I can make it work in 1.2 but not in 1.5. Could you goys tell me if it is possible to make this run in actual DCS versions and how??...thanks!!:thumbup:

1.5 is already using newer DX11 rendering engine and therefore you have higher shadows settings in-game, why temper with AO outside of it? This is old thread from 2012.

Well, shadows are nothing to do with ambient occlusion mate...they are totally different things. AO is a cheap kind of global illumination which is a way to recreate INDIRECT lighting.

 

New engine.

 

Yeah, i know but if it worked before with nv inspector i guess it should do it now also...bad new is its dx11 so i dont know how to do it..
