Hamblue Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi When serving, what are the best settings to use? I had a remark from a player that the traffic is lagging them. I have a fast machine so everything is maxed out. Does the game settings on my machine get forced on everyone playing when I'm serving? Thanks Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Samsung 830, 256 gig hard drive, GTX780 Video Card, Warthog Hotas, Razer Mamba mouse. Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals. Hamblue Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 To keep it basic is there a way to turn off civilian traffic? I turned it off in both the game and the mission settings and it still shows up. Right now I'm working with Hard Core Terroritst. Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. Samsung 830, 256 gig hard drive, GTX780 Video Card, Warthog Hotas, Razer Mamba mouse. IIRC the only option that is forced is scenery so you do not want to set those to low. Regarding lag, that is your bandwidth speed, in particular your upload speed. Server settings have nothing to do with that - it's your internet connection that's important. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Funny Stuff Chidlid  Viper, Thanks, So running at lower settings helps other players? A couple of players said they had good pings but were getting low FPS. They were blaming the civilian traffic. I'll try lowering some settings. I have fios and measured speed is 30meg down and 24 meg up. My machine is built using a sabertooth mobo with i7 2600k running at 4 ghz. It also has 16 gig of ram, a 256 gig SSD and a GTX 680 video card. 159th_Viper Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 So running at lower settings helps other players? No - will just help the server, which is usually a lower-spec machine (relatively speaking, that is). For the other players connecting to the server, it's all about your Internet speed. Dejjvid Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 But Civ traffic is a server side setting right? So by disabling civ. traffic you reduce the workload of the clients. i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]
Aries Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I tried to disable civ. traffic on the server side and in mission settings and it was still there?!?!? How to disable it completely...? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
BRooDJeRo Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I tried to disable civ. traffic on the server side and in mission settings and it was still there?!?!? How to disable it completely...? Ive noticed this too. I havent looked into it further, because it isn't a huge problem on my end. I've noticed this with already available missions, however when i create a mission localy with traffic off there is no traffic. DCS World 1121.
HiJack Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Civil traffic is completly a mission design issue and not a server side issue. You must change the mission options to set no civil traffic. (HJ)
