Though I do not disagree, I seriously doubt ED is going to spend any time expanding the training for a product that has been out for a year. EtherealN Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I do remember someone having done some sort of DRM solution for missions (they used it for training missions, actually), and everything you need for interactive tutorials like the ones EB made for A-10C is right there in the mission editor. :) It takes a LOT of work, but it's certainly possible. Evil.Bonsai Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I guess it would be nice to have something in game, but there are more than a few youtube videos of just that. After watcing a couple, it's pretty easy, actually.
WildBillKelsoe Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Please don't say that word : D-R-M.... We've had enough with Obi-soft gai--- DRM lock for SH5 and Ass Creed 2.. You're not seriously adopting it over AAA/Starforce, are you? AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Mohamengina Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) I guess it would be nice to have something in game, but there are more than a few youtube videos of just that. After watcing a couple, it's pretty easy, actually. yea there are but having an in-game tutorial that guides you step by step and breaks everything down is so much easier. I've tried a lot of the online tutorials but still don't know what I'm doing when I get in the plane when it comes to setting up my radios properly so I can then use the information that jtac gives me. Seems I've learned everything there is but learning how to set up radios is the one thing that has me completely confused. The training wiki for the radios is good at explaining what the radios do and how they work but doesn't provide a step by step guide on how to use them for things such as jtac. So when I go onto servers that have everything on the highest realism settings, I have no idea how to find targets. Edited July 6, 2012 by Mohamengina
112th_Rossi Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Interesting. In the tutorials, certain buttons are highlighted when they are talked about. Is it possible to script this using the editor? Can it be done for objects on the ground too?
Grimes Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 In the tutorials, certain buttons are highlighted when they are talked about. Is it possible to script this using the editor? Can it be done for objects on the ground too? Yes and sorta. http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/84654/ The file linked shows all of the cockpit arguments that the mission editor can use to check if a setting is in the right position and is whats used to highlight different instruments. All of the relevant conditions and trigger actions are listed as "x: yadda yadda yadda" It only works for the player aircraft, but it does respond to players keyboard inputs. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
