openfalcon68 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Using version 1.1.1.1. I am able to make the maverick seeker head see what the TGP is seeing and after than I am not able to lock the maverick and fire. Would appreciate you point me in to the solution using keyboard shortcuts. I have been through the youtube videos but they are not working for me. Please help.... Manish
Jona33 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 You need to press tms up which is Left control+up arrow key when the maverick is looking at the target. If there is not enough contrast it will not lock. Once locked fire. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
JCamel Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) Ah, so you can lock a Maverick by TMS up once you point it where the TGP is pointing? I always thought you had to slew. Damn! Still can't figure the cross-correlate mode though. Edited July 7, 2012 by JCamel If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
Cp Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I always thought you had to slew. Damn! It used to be like that in back in the beta IIRC, not anymore though. Still can't figure the cross-correlate mode though. Make sure you're using the correct maverick, only the G and K have the force correlate mode.
openfalcon68 Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Worked like charm......The operative word is press and not hold Left control+up arrow key. Brings a whole new dimension to the game. Launch range is about 5.5 miles as seen in the TGP not more than that. Oh one more thing....I will list out keyboard steps for 1.1.1.1 in a couple of days.....I do not think I saw "press Left control+up arrow key" anywhere....... Many Thanks again..... hassata Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 It'll still lock by slewing then releasing over a target, just like in RL I believe. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

JCamel Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Got it to work now. I had the wrong Maverick selected without realising it. If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
SharpeXB Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I have a lot of trouble getting Mavs to lock on target. I am trying TMS down short to ground stabilize then trying to slew it over the target but it's a random success thing. I would think you could use the TGP to set a SPI on the target and then China Hat forward to slave the Mav. Does that work? I haven't tried TMS short up though. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
159th_Viper Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I haven't tried TMS short up though. TMS Fwd Short toggles/commands the Maverick from a non-tracked state to a tracked state. It needs to be tracking to be able to launch. As a consequence, if you have never tried TMS Fwd Short then it's no wonder you are having problems. They will not 'lock' if you don't tell them to 'lock'. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder! Set up TGP point track from long range (if this is a waypoint you can do it with China FWD long with HUD as SOI). 2. TMS Up Long. 3. Coolie Right Short to set MAV SOI. 4. China FWD Long to set MAV to TGP target. 5. TMS Up Short to lock. If the telegraph pole takes off after you, it is not a telegraph pole.
Purg Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Wrapping my head around the Mav too. I also like to have a close look with the TGP, set it as SPI then slave the MAV to the SPI but doing it that way it's not ground stabilised if I have to slew it a little to lock. Can you do a TMS Aft short then TMS forward short? Will it be ground stabilised after launch?
Loggert Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Usually I'll spot with tgp, make spi and then slave my mavs to it. TMS forward and hopefully it starts tracking, if not, get a tiny bit closer and then go for the TMS forward again ;) If not just get altitude and drop a CBU12 on it ;)

Keep at it until Mav tracks. 1 Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Click me to commence your Journey of Pillage and Plunder!
