Corrigan Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 Alright mate! I'll check as many of the models as I can this evening! 1 Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
Corrigan Posted August 5, 2012 Author Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) So here is one that's been bugging me forever. This is a paused screen of a Shilka firing at different distances. At a point the muzzle flare goes from tiny to huge, and then scales down slightly again. Please fix it! I'm pretty sure this applies to more AAA than the Shilka (Zeus, possibly among others). Corrigan Posted August 5, 2012 Author Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) Ok, first epic post! I've checked all the US planes (not with every skin though), and they all seemed ok. Here are inconsistencies I found with the Russian fixed wings: The first one is a bit of a funny one. The plane completely disappears at the furthest view distance (in F2 cam) -- something not even smaller planes do, so the size needs to be bumped up a bit. This doesn't look too bad in the pic, but the props suddenly disappear. MEGA EDIT! So now I've checked all fixed and rotary wing aircraft from all countries (again, not with all skins, if that's needed). These are the additional inconsistencies I found. They should all be self-explanatory, but if you have any questions about the images, I'm all yours. So, could someone explain to me how the LOD with skins works? In some cases where a skin will be a blue camo pattern, say, at a certain LOD step the entire plane will turn all blue. Does the shade of blue and the distance of the change depend on the model LOD (ie same for all skins), or is it a property of the skin? Mustang Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) Hi Corrigan sorry i missed your posts there, excellent thorough work! :) These LOD problems look like something only ED can rectify, i will collect all these reports and have them sent to the database soon. edit: i've adjusted the Yak-40.lods, Su-25T.lods and OH-58D.lods, check post #2 for updated package (the other .lods will still have to be corrected by ED) Edited August 6, 2012 by Mustang
Corrigan Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 No worries. And the work I put in obviously pales beside what you do. Thanks again! Do you know what it takes to fix the Shilka muzzle flash issue? I'd love to get that sorted. Is it a LOD file like the others, or more complicated? Mustang Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I'm investigate the muzzle flash soon, i'll need to do some digging ;) Oh just so you know i've just entered the report to ED database listing the buggy LOD's, thank you again for your efforts
Rider1 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Mustang, you have been a huge support and have done countless of little fixes.. LOD fixes model fixes, visuals, sound fixes, tweaks etc.. Are these fixes going into the next patch? I know they are not show stoppers, but they are fixes of incomplete work that really should to be addressed in an ED release.. Or, are we on our own to just keep a "Mustang Folder" with all of your work and sort through and apply each fix with each consequent install of the new official ED world/module version release? Thanks again for your efforts. Edited August 7, 2012 by Rider1
TZeer Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Nevermind! Fixed in the latest update :) Edited August 10, 2012 by TZeer
Corrigan Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 So Mustang, did you get a chance to look at the muzzle flare thing yet? Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
diveplane Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 i think ed has to redo the lod distances on the aircraft lighting, i find the nav and beacons on many aircraft very faint at distance, maybe increase them?. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.

marcos Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 M60A3 size error When diving on an M60A3, particularly when on grass (the M60A3 that is), it appears like a bigger block at first and then turns into a relatively small tank as you get closer. I'd have saved the file but the game crashed out.
