Watch the video wags posted and you will hear some interesting things listed in development :) like ohh i dunno SU-27SM?and Hinds.

What video? What did I miss?

Thank god you let us know, I was beginning to get worried that this thread was just going to drag on and on without your valuable input.

:megalol: glad I wasn't the only one worried. Any jet added to DCS is more then welcome, as long as it starts with F and ends with 14, 15, 16 and 18.....J/King.....ok as long as it's a modern aircraft.

I am totally tired of american jets.. they are fine, i don't say the contrary, just I would like more... I mean a modern aircraft that is not made from USA...

it cans be the SU-27SM3 or the SU-35BM or the EUROFIGHTER.

Please ED, introduce new fresh air..

thanks!

Eurofighter is also in development by some third party, so don't worry man it will be fun to shoot down american jets.

ED is famous for developing Russian OLD & Modern JETS... I read in this thread that somebody said that F15c is still better well think again because after the release of su27sm US jets pilots will start crying again to balance MP and will say put F22 or any other F series modern jet. Its like Su27 can handle : F 14, 16, and 50% of F15c. Su27sm can handle up to series of F 1 to 35 series US jets....just imagine what will THE GREAT SU-35BM CAN DO ?

Posted

No, it cannot. The Su-27SM is a mid-life upgrade designed to keep up with certain neighbouring countries, not F-15's, and certainly it has no chances against 22's or 35's; it would have a lot of trouble handling a Golden Eagle.

The Su-27SM platform upgrade brings it up to be even with a late 1990's F-15C at best.

Su27sm can handle up to series of F 1 to 35 series US jets....

I'd expect the EF-2000 to be downing Flankers more than anything else.

Based on?

Realism over balance, that's what most people want. You achieve balance through mission design.

Besides, the F-22 is being developed for DCS anyway.

New, more powerfull and modern radar (N001V), MFD-s ...

The N001V is neither more modern nor more powerful than the old N001 - just improved with a new dataprocessor and operating modes(including air-to-surface).

As far as air-to-air capability goes, its more the compatibility with the RVV-AE missile, better RWS(Pastel) and man-machine interface thats significant - the N001V radar was in fact the most modest choice of the options available.

You are wrong DCS market is mostly European and China. I have seen many people always go for non-US aircraft in MP's Gaming and even players from US choose non-US jets.....:pilotfly:

Care to share where you are getting your market analysis?

Besides, he never made any comments regarding market shares.

How does that have any relevance to your initial statement?

It should have almost double the range of basic N001.

What is clear from available data published by Russian manufacturers over the last fifteen years is that the Flanker has seen a roughly fivefold growth in the power aperture product performance of available radar designs. In practical terms, this amounts to a gross increase in detection range performance of around 50 percent since the N001 was first deployed, and a gross increase in jammer burnthrough performance of around 120 percent. Improvements in processing and antenna/receiver design make the actual performance improvements better.

Looks like something from APA ...

There aren't any that are publicly available, and APA is pretty crappy. He doesn't even list the V in there, because he knows what the deal is: It's a slotted array antenna upgrade and processor upgrade for the N001. 50% more range ... haha :D

I wonder why F-15C doesn't have 1000km detection against 1m^2 target yet, given that the APG-63 was already doing better than N-001V in 1990? :D

Better sources? :D

Alfa has a pretty good idea. There are individuals very close those systems on the test team as well.

And no, CK is not 'guessing', he's actively deceiving.

Very close is relative.

Close as designing the actual radar? Or close as putting it together? Operating the aircraft (SU-27SM)? Maintaining it?

In reality, WE DON'T KNOW - we are guessing in (very) educated way.

It's plausible that SU-27sm radar is significant improvement, imo
