The fact that you can not see what a single display does is the reason why I load videos, they show the problem clearly.

Thanks for your system specifications!:)

and in-game settings!

Now I finally know that I have to replay your track at 1920x1080 with no MSAA and no TSSAA in windowed mode and HDR on "Warm"!

Thanks!

edit:

to get a slight guess what I'm talking about - please replay one of your tracks at 1024x768 4:3 .

On a single display the problem is still there no matter the settings of full screen, windowed, MSAA, TSSAA or HDR. I have not tried any other resolution. I have also tried all the settings for cockpit frames up to 1024 all frames, no change. It really looks as there is some object setting that is not correct either on the sun or the sunflares.

See..

...that's exactly why I'm asking this whole S**t on and on.

-the picture you get depends highly on the used resolution - than also on MSAA and TSSAA.

as these both post-processing-settings can change the whole picture once again. - and also how the DCS-HDR is working.

Same problem on 1024x768 4:3.

Why can't you change your settings to just one screen Peter? 90% of the users here are on one screen you know.

because I'm not 90% !!!

I'm not a percentage -I'm Peter and this is how I do it!

When you start to think in percentages you will end up like this:

A Plea for View-Export/Multi-head/TH Users. - ED Forums

well - 90% seems to be happy...

I wrote everything down in this thread how to change any parameter of this mod - unhappy - please try your own settings so it works in any(= your) condition.

(I wrote it maybe four times in this thread - but once again: I think this is why we have this default big sun in DCS: no flickering at any setting)

- I also loaded this mod up under this conditions:

"License: Freeware - Free version, Unlimited distribution"

so you are free to change it how much you want and even to load it up again and use/change the info I gave/ReadMe.

I know - I gave you much more info that you asked for...

BTW: It works for me form 20°-130° FOV at 21:10 without problems at any conditions with 3840x1790 at 4xMSAA on a HD6870

@ all

OK - here is a challenge:

Please post a video with this flickering while you are using a TrackIR and have enabled all Trackir axis's.

and please:

try to use something like rational FOV settings according your screen.

Plese have a look at this video: (nothing personal HiJack - I'm using it just as example)

when you realize that you are "searching" for a setting when "it" happens - You make something wrong or you didn't followed the read-me.

:)

I already have, my friend. This one has all TIR axes enabled.

Yes, but why is that important? I zoom when playing too.

Seems to be a bug without a fix - please use only the default files until there is a solution for you.

Isnt this just the zoom flicker, when you use a axis for zoom ?

I dont see this flicker as I have my axis zoom setup in steps. ( thanks to Peterp )

I thought about that too, but it happens when I use the keys to zoom as well. Also, if you set the LED brightness on your Warthog to either 0% or 100%, that slider doesn't judder anymore.

What BigNewy wanted to say (please correct me if I'm wrong):

He uses fixed steps for zooming - so he don't experience something like you.

Additional info:

BTW - moving your head forward with TrackIR is not the same like zoom/changing FOV.

-good night! :)

I understood him, yes. The flickering is still there even when using large discrete steps like he is.

You seem to need this explained, so I'll give it one last try.

He wrote (my emphasis):

I dont see this flicker as I have my axis zoom setup in steps.

The underlined word implies a causal bond -- that his lack of flickering is caused by that zoom setup. There exists no such causal relationship on my system.

Yes Corrigian you are right !

- BigNewy has just to disable his zoom curvature to see what he never had noticed...

well- I still believe that you are just (re)posting here to make up a argument - I thought we talked this whole mater through starting at #140 and earlier - please read this again - and if not... do what you want - but don't expect any other reply to one of your postings form me again.

You used up more time in this thread from me as many others that deserved it. - yes my fault. but not again.

as I said - please look up the postings starting at #94 I all said it once before.

I tried all sorts of changes but have no change. Tracks supplied, I'l post my computer specs later. One track with the A-10C, two tracks with the Su-25T, one with joustick settings for zoom and one with no profile on joystick, cleared zoom assignment and just using the keyboard. Same issue on all. But remember Paul, this is not a major issue, it is only a bit anoying, the MOD is great! :D

Oh, and gone down on most of my graphics settings in game and reset GPU to "Optimal Quality".

EDIT: Damn, I'm sure I had my computer spec's layed out here somewhere.

EDIT2: using TrackIR of course!

Hi - I played back all of your tracks at this settings with CCC 12.2 on a HD 6870:

HiJackreplaysettings.jpg

...with Realistic Sun 1.2.2-RC3.

In this order:

Su-25T SUN MOD Zoom shake- Warm.trk

A-10C SUN MOD Zoom shake- Warm.trk

Su-25T SUN MOD Zoom shake- Keyboard.trk

Please check if they played back correctly.

The video was original recorded in 1920x1080 but I scaled it down to 1366x768 and used a "radical" compression (from 680 to 35MB) to save upload time.

I have still the Full-HD version on my disk.

Sorry - I simply cant help - because I have no flickering at all.

And I can't readjust something to make it disappear for you when I can't see it whatever I try...

I had the high hopes to get a idea about your experience, because you are also using a AMD GPU.

Here is your video as comparison:

Things you can try:

A) see if a change in your GPU settings will bring a difference.

B) maybe change the drivers.

C) see if fiddelin' with any of this values will bring a change for you:

change in the DCS WorldBazarshadersPostMotionEffectHDR.fx

in line #402 and #428

heightTX / 0.13;

to 0.15 and test

and if the flickering is still there higher it in small steps and have a look again.

Use this settings for your test

0.17 - 0.25 - 0.33 and so on until it disappears ...hopefully.

!warning! this can bring all the sun settings out of balance and you will probably have to rework your Rays.tga and also the Hdr settings/Sunsize in the SkyQuad.fx again.

do this:

higher please the in the DCS WorldBazarshadersskyskyQuad.fx in line #49

...step(0.4, D) * 300.0 * HDR;

the 0.4 in discrete steps of 0.5 and observe the change.

(>4.5>5.0 and so on)

When you found a value where the flicker disappears change in the same file in line#47:

...lightVec.xyz), 0.0, 1.0)), 100000.0);

to 120000.0 > 140000.0 and so on -until the sun-disk has a good size again.

Than adjust your HDR "Power" again like I describe in the ReadMe.

The issue have nothing to do with the stick. I cleared all my joystick settings for zoom and the problem still exists. The latest video I made was using the keyboard.

I saw this kind of flickering on my end also with sun mod 1.2.1 I can't recall now that I saw it also with 1.2.2 and I also changed the Catalyst from 12.3 to 12.8 same day I installed the new sun mod so don't know which one could have fixed it.

PS: I have HD7970 if it helps

PC specs:

Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

I see you can't reproduce the problem Peter so there obviosly is some local problem.

Can everyone that have this problem post their computer spec. please?

If you do not want to post it you can send it to me by PM.

Thanks for your help Peter ;)

Thanks Kuky, it can clearly be a driver issue. I'm on 12.8 now also.
