Hi,

Every time I'm dropping a CBU and looking at the TGP when it hit and explodes, the drop in FPS is dramatically. I would say at best I have 1 frame pr sec for five-six seconds.

What setting(s) might have an impact on FPS like this? What settings should I consider reducing to avoid this problem?

Cockpit display resolution most likely will affect it, other than that it's hard to say, "scenes" possibly, but i have found that no matter what settings are used the CBU-97 will have a pretty high impact on FPS. :P

Hopefully they just need optimization. I'm guessing that the 97 is the most processor intensive weapon that the a10 can use (the gun might be a close second?)... Alot of calculations have to be made when they're dropped and do their thing. Add to that new explosion effects that I'm also assuming might need some optimization and you get a big frame rate hit.

I've also noticed that the explosively formed penetrators (looks like a yellow tracer in game) from the skeets will ocasonally fly skyward and never stop. Presumably eating up even more processing power for the rest of the mission (probably not too much, as they defineitly don't seem to have an AFM :D)

System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer

I have the same problem and I am curious if there is anything that can be done against it.

Aside from buying a stronger PC, I'm guessing no. Lot's of little things to track, lots of processing going on, hence slow. Drop 8 at once and it'll probably crash.

Yeah, I go from ~13 F.P.S. to ~1 F.P.S. whenever one drops. The latter value varies, actually--sometimes it's 0.3, sometimes it's 3. Oddly, this happens even when the bomb was not within my visual range--I can tell when someone dropped one miles and miles away, because of the slideshow. I'm like, "Damn it, who dropped the cluster bomb?!"
