There was an Me-109 model on the ground in one of the dev videos, when the P-51 was taxiing. Doesn't equal a promise, but they're definitely thinking about it.

That's my video featuring some very early plane models.

I'm not sure what's happened with the development for those.

I have no info on it actually. It was posted in our forums before P-51 was released by a tester. I can't actually say if its a flyable or not. Hope so though, the Mustang needs an opponent. One can hope.

So I guess let the rumors start.

If ED really has a plan to develop a WW2 sim, I think it is about time to take action. The development of BoB is in a mess at the moment. What's more, it seems that their developer is not able to fix it, since some core programmers have left the house. Many WW2 simmers who have been looking forward to it for years are still holding their money in hands in hope of the sim to live up to their expectations one day. I am one of these simmers. I didn't buy Mustang because it's just a warbird which is put into a modern environment. There is no missions, no WW2 ground objects, and the most important, German fighters. If ED releases a late-war German fighter and promised to gradually enrich the game with historical WW2 elements, I can certainly say that it will attract quite a lot hardcore IL-2 players who are disappointed with BoB. German fighters can be created very efficiently, since there are only 2 types of fighters, 109 and 190. Difference between their variants are just some tiny cosmetic and function changes. If you release one of them (I hope it's either K4 or D9), I will buy it immediately. And I'll persuade my squad mates to buy it too. Considering the quality works ED has been doing in DCS series, I'm already excitedly seeing a rising community.

Would be sweet if they added the 88mm flak guns :)

"The art of simulation design is about understanding limited fidelity...

...compromises must be made. Designers have to consider cost vs. fidelity and processor time vs. fidelity. Additional trade-offs must be made between graphics, AI, flight models, number of units and more...

...never ask the pilot what he wants to learn because he too will end up building an airplane. Instead, ask the pilot what he needs to learn."

Thanks Spetz, I've not seen this image before, looks real good tho. Either way somethings' coming I'm sure.

A separate flyable axis module would really get things buzzing around here:) But an unflyable would be fine by me for now.

We'll see I guess...
