Spetz Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Last night I emptied the Vulcan to check out the reload time... 3660+ seconds ?? It does not take over an hour to reload the rounds. From the references I can find, the M163 carries 2100 rounds onboard, with 1100 loaded, ready to fire. The extra 1000 in reserve. Reload times for that 1000 rounds is 5 minutes. Even if you needed to replenish that 1000 rounds from a ammo hauler, it would be transfered from truck to APC in a few minutes. These reload times and ammo on board amounts need to be seriously looked at.
djembe Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 +1 Not only the Vulcan reload time must be ajusted. I believe that all the vehicles have very exaggerated recharge time.
tflash Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Yup, I have the same on T-80 etc: over 3300 seconds reload time. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

joey45 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) Pump up the jam pump it up , while your feet are stumping... What give, probably to cut down on spamming. Frogisis Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I think it's supposed to represent someone coming to you with additional magazines after you've used up all the rounds you actually have in the vehicle. I wouldn't be surprised if they've got something in the works using that logistics system to cut down on the reload times if you've got the right units on hand, though. At first you were just SOL once you'd used all your ammo, so this is certainly a step in the right direction. joey45 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 As I'm not on my pc, you could try having a supply truck near or in squad...? Frogisis Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I've tried it for artillery, and it doesn't seem to make any difference so that probably hasn't been coded yet. It could be that it was the wrong kind of truck, or that it has to be a different squad instead of part of the same squad, but I doubt it. Frogisis Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 All I could find were health packs, but my friend who was Player 2 got the scatter shot, so we could finally beat that Hind on the Sukhumi level. Frogisis Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 More information for the player in general, I think, is all CA is really lacking at this point, hopefully including things like radio calls such as you currently get from your wingman, etc. And I suppose some input into what air and sea forces are doing - Maybe just "requests," since full control might actually seem a little cartoonish. Back to the reloading topic, I'm eager to see what they'll do with logistics... I hope if they do implement ammo in the field there'll be unit templates to put in missions so we don't have to manually create a supply chain each time. It'd be not just tedious but way too easy to forget something important otherwise. But trying to safely direct unarmed trucks and their escorts to embattled troops near the front (or take out the enemy's convoy) would add a lot of depth, I think.
