That must be some weathering if the entire corner is gone.

The corner is not gone, just dirty.

Man, a flyable DCS-level Mig-31 would be a nice addition to the hangar, wouldn't it? :)

The MiG-29KUB is being built for India so it makes sense that the images would be in English.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

as vampyre already hinted, the ship is in india in service, so i would guess as well, that india prefered english over russian ;)

They probably were Indian - though they had Russian markings, while (obviously) those in service with India have their own markings, and the Russians do have 10 (?) MiG-29K & 4 MiG-29KUB of their own in service on the Kuznetzov (& will receive 10 more aircraft under the current order).

I think the intention is that these will eventually replace the Su-33..

One thing you would notice first on the Indian KUB's - their engines don't smoke, at all.

I believe the footage is from sea trials conducted in the Barents sea prior to the ship being handed over to India.

The MiG-29K seen at the very beginning of the video is actually the old 9-31 version(no 311) being used for "mock-up" puposes, while the flight testing of the new 9-41 version involved MIGs own prototypes(hence bort # 941 and Russian markings) flown by MIG test pilots.

It is.
