Is something seriously porked with 1.22?

I'm not sure what is wrong but in 1.22 when I click on fly a mission (after the briefing) it drops to desktop like normal... then sits there with the module box on the screen. And it continues to sit there. For a while. Like the program is not responding.

 

After quite some time it will finally go to the loading screen (far longer than in the past dcs world beta) and then when it finally loads the jet/helocopter, I usually have to alt tab one or two more times to get the mouse/keyboard to actually respond in sim.

 

To top things off--in Black Shark 2 the textures on the helocopter are toast. This isn't the case in A-10 but everything else as far as loading is weird with it...

 

Ideas?

 

I had one HELL of a time getting Black Shark 2's keys to authorize (I have the upgrade).

I reinstalled everything fresh and now it works. I do have to sit at the screen on desktop for 10 - 15 seconds though... dunno what it is doing there and the Windows 7 spinning doughnut just spins around and round.

I had long load times and freezes at the start with 1.2.2 but seems to have been fixed by the latest update :)

New update today cut load times in half!

Yes, the 12th update made loading faster.

But today's update again pushed loading way back... Tested when flying a FC3 aircraft, and it felt over 2 minutes of splash screen, and DCS World was 'not responding' during that time, according to Windows task manager.

Oh well, I've disabled auto-update now as I'm using mods. Hopefully ED will start posting a update thread, like BIS do for the Arma betas, so users can comment and other users can see whether they want to update or not.

Yeah, like that but it would be better if it had it's own sub-forum and a separate thread per-update for people to comment on. That one's locked so users can't comment at all.

Whats all this linking? Is this about version changenotes?

 

+ DCS is not Arma, Arma is not DCS, boys are not girls and planes arent cars. Im not sure if comparing different stuff that have nothing to do with eachother will work. If you rather play Arma then play Arma. Simple.

It's nothing to do with what I'd rather play. The only comparison was to the way the updates are detailed and discussed in the forums, which I think is done better for ArmA.

Yes and it would be better if users didn't have to look in hundreds of threads to see if there was any possible reason why they should avoid updating just yet but could just look at one thread.

 

There's information and there's user-friendly ways of presenting information :music_whistling:
