cant get trackir to work in DCS A-10

Hello:

I see on this forum that you guys are using trackerir just fine but i have tried every thing but i cant get it to work at all. when i turn trackir on every thing on the screen works fine but when i go into DCS a-10 its like trackir is locked up. i can can use the pov button and pan around ok but when turn my head nothing changes. i have version 1.1.1.1

windows 7 home premium(64Bit),intel core i7 3770k 3.50GHZ,asus sabertooth Z77 mother board,8 GBDDR3 memory,800 watt power supply,2xsli Dual (nvidia GeforceGTX 670 2GB

my trackir is version 4.1.028 and i down load and use version 5 soft ware.

If any one can help me i would really appreciated it.

His post says he has dual GTX 670's not ATI.

 

In TrackIR do you have buttons set to center and pause it?

 

The unit on top of the monitor should show 2 Green LED's

If it shows 1 then it isn't seeing the game

If it shows orange then try hitting F9 or whatever you have pause set to.

Thank you for your quick response i have 5.2 final installed with 4.2039 final i also installed them as administrator ,trackerir is plugged into a powered hub."thanks again" this has got me pulling my hair out.(what i have left.

are you running it as admin as well? sometimes it needs the same privilege level. run dcs as admin and TIR (if you aren't already)

Yes i right click on the short cut then advanced and click on run as admi.

Have you tried unpluging the TIR, restart computer, then plug back in. Run. ?

TrackIR 3 & 4

 

Front Status LED :

• Off : NO clip is being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output is NOT paused.
  
• Green : A clip IS being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output is NOT paused.
  
• Orange : A clip IS being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output IS paused.
  
• Red : NO clip is being tracked, and TrackIR Enhanced output IS paused.
  
• Flashing Blue or Green : Low power or stand by mode.
  

Blue Case LED :

• Off : There is NO TrackIR Enhanced Title (game or simulation) running.
  
• Glowing Blue : A TrackIR Enhanced Title IS running and has registered with the TrackIR software to receive tracking data.
  
• Note : If the Case LED has been disabled in the Tracking : Settings window, it will not turn on.
  

Hello:

I have versiuon 4.1.028 on a disk i run it then down loaded 2.2039 installed as admistrator,then downloaded 5.2 then installed it as admistrator,i click on trackerir then click on DCS simulation also click as admistrator my trackerir camera lights works just like the above taken from the manual i go into DCS A-10 every thing looks good i can click on center/pause the lights work like they should , but there is no head movement pitch or yaw.

would it be possible there is something missing in the sim? I down loaded the files from Eagle dynamics installed them in order in a folder then ran the installer i dont know if i ran this file as admi. or not butdown loaded ok .

i also started up lockon flaming cleffs 2 on another computer i have ."32 BT" and trackerir worked fine i dont know where to go from here(fellows i sure appreciated your help. thanks so much).

I received a priviate email concerning this post and not knowing how to reply i think i messed up" so i am answering here hoping you see it and accept my apology .Inregard to your questions,i have trackerir 4 and it has one light above the camera and a blue led at the bottom,they all work as to the manual,my lighting is above and slighty behind the camera,something i just found out tonight, the camera works fine in game play but theres no pitch or yaw in simulation.I have been trying in simulation which i really want to work,do you have any suggestion on this?

Any one else have any suggestion all are appreciated

Olekrow, do you have a hatclip (trackclip)or the trackclip pro?

In the set-up did you make sure the right one is clicked?

After a recent update I was going nuts for a half hour before I noticed that trackclip was clicked by default and I had the Trackclip pro. A simple click fixed me up.

What Hamblue said... I had the same issue until I noticed it was set to the trackclip rather that the trackclip pro.

In the tracker 5 soft ware i have trackclip checked( i have a clip on my hat),in my trackerir 4 pro there are track clip pro,vector and dot the vector is checked.when i bring up trackerir 4 pro on the front below trackerir pro is "vector enhanced" should that be?in trackerir home sight i saw something about vector enhanced was for trackerir 3 only

So you have 2 different versions of TIR software installed and running simultaniously?

Could it be that these interfere with one another when A-10C is loaded?

 

I would uninstall at least one version (or maybe both and then re-install just one).

He has the Trackir 4 hardware and running trackir 5 software which is fine.

Next I would again make sure the right button is clicked and then adjust the ir strength. Also use the head view to see how it's moving. If it's just jerking around(as mine was) a setting will be wrong.

guys, please help me out with this:

 

I have trackIR4 pro. I use the baseball hat thingy, but the damn thing does some weird head movements with very small head movements. I'm talking like as I try to look into right MFCD, I suddenly get my head in cockpit upside down looking at my empty ejection seat.

 

I'm running the latest release of trackIR software. My profile is set to give more in-game head movements with little actual movements. Not even smoothing cuts it. I'm wearing eyeglasses.

 

Problem: oddities with moving head too small in real versus sudden stutter and loss of function with going beyond borders of camera.

 

What is the optimum tracking distance and frame from trackIR camera should I use?

is there a light source behind you being picked up by the camera? is track clip pro selected instead of just the clip?

 

2 - 3 feet is recommended max distance from camera iirc

yes, you need to bring up the camera view in the TIR sotware to see why it's doing it. It could be other reflections giving false information or it could be that the camera needs adjustment in it's position or where it is pointing because it may be loosing sight of the reflectors.

 

With the camera view on it should be obvious whats happening.

Bring up the camera screen. You should only see the 3 dots from your clip. if you see anything else it could be a light source from behind you. Any other source will screw up the operation. Even reflected sunlight from a window across the room will do it.

You can also adjust the IR illuminator intensity as well as sensitivity.

and as you say you wear glasses, it could be reflected light from them. had a head set that did that.

I had the same problem with the view going crazy. (Using the TrackClip Pro) When I used the camera view I saw that my glasses were reflecting the monitor screen image back to the camera lens every once in a while. I turned up the LED intensity and turned down my monitor brightness a little.

That fixed my problem.
