hi lucky luca - I'm making those as well - just didn't advertised it yet. IMG_0615.JPG. the small plate can be either bolted down or you can use suction cups. I have to work out the price

Waiting on that price so can order with the extension....

hi guys - the plate is made from plastic. At the moment the price per part is quite high $40 per plate so I'm trying to find a way how to make it more affordable. I might have to employ different equipment. are you going to be screwing/bolting the plate or is it goint to be mostly free standing?

Zahry, I intend to bolt mine down.

I think plastic may not be up to the job especially at those narrow tab points.

Maybe if the plastic disk came right out beyond the screw holes it would be stronger.

Another problem with plastic is that it is obviously light weight.

Most of the weight, and thus stability, of the Warthog is in that big metal base.

Take that base off and I think you almost have to bolt it down to something.

Originally I was thinking of just a weighty stainless steel disk say about 3mm or more thick and about 2cm greater diameter than the Warthog itself. It would just need predrilled holes to attach the Warthog and around the circumference about 10mm in from the edge.

hi gb,

that's basically the best solution, although as long as the material holds it doesn't have to be heavy stainless steel- aluminium, mdf and plastic works well as long as you have it bolted down. I'll make some drawings and I'll post it up

Just look at his website http://simpit.co.nz :smartass:

122 NZD ~ 77 EUR (shipping included) is the cheapest option for us Austrians. Could be we have to pay VAT on top of that, too.

Will an extension the length of 20cm (7.87in) return to center from the springs in the Warthog?

Hi, I'm planning to order one soon, has anybody considered commercializing a round smaller base to replace the big metal base of the warthog yoke?

I just wish I had the ability to saw the metal base into a smaller round area.

Cheers

L

Hi monnie,

forgot to mention - yes it will return. I've tested the configuration before shipping and it was ok. (I wonder if I'll be able to find a way how to make the shaft telescopic (maybe 10-17.5cm range to make it more versatile for choppers and jets. tomorrow I'm going to pickup some new materials so I'll start working on some economical way how to make the bottom round plate.

Just adding my positive review here.

Two weeks from order to delivery (East Coast US) and it works perfectly. The extra length was just what I needed and that probably makes this some of the best money I have spent on sim equipment.

If I decide that I need a different length later, I will order another one in heartbeat.

Thanks Zahry

I ordered a 14cm extension and in hindsight I think it is a bit long.

The feel is just a little too vague. I would imagine 20cm would feel pretty loose

with not much centring force. If I was to reorder I would go with 10cm.

mh im thinking about getting an extension as well....my only concern is, that i dont know where to mount my stick then...

now it rests on my desk, and the stick is already a bit too high, with an extension this would make everything worse....

but im really eager to have the increased sensitivity which comes with such an extension....

any ideas how to mount the stick then....floor mounted is not possible for me.

Received mine today, and experienced a slight problem with the plastic screw thread (hope the term is correct, or at the very least clear enough). It was too large to fit the grey metal screwing ring of the stick, thus preventing correct fastening.

Had to spend 2 minutes with a cheap knife correcting that, and now I'm wondering how I could even fly without it. The aforesaid little issue aside, everything is made of top notch quality material, and I really doubt I'll have any problem at all with it at any point along the line. Thank you so much for your work !

EDIT: too late (early) to post, sorry I butchered English, guys

hi guys - sorry for the silence - just finishing the new demo center and I have hardly time to sleep :-)

You can indeed cut down the tube - make sure the cables are out first ;-). You'll need to drill new holes for the screws as well. If you'll need help or assistance send me PM, email or try skype :-)

I'm working on the solution - the project is on hold at the moment until I finish the demo center (need to do some debugging) :-)
