IMC = Instrument Meteorological Conditions

Case III (aka CAT III) is precision instrument approach.

CAT III is a term used for civilian land-based systems. Case III is a type of recovery for carrier operations, generally involving a DME-arc to a long straight-in with step downs, and culminating in a hand-flown or autopilot-coupled ILS, depending on aircraft, systems, and conditions.

Thanks :) Looked up it for a bit more information:

Anyone use ATC?

EDIT: just to clarify - Auto throttle

No because I am using vLSO so in order to get the good grades you have to use the throttle.:joystick:

Yeah even with a good trap it does the funky chicken at the end of the trap...dunno why.

Check your weight as the higher the weight the faster the approach speed to maintain the AoA so dump fuel if you have to in order to bring the approach speed down. Once you have it mastered try flying the Carrier practice mission and see if you can get the 5 traps in a row to get the reward. You can also try this with the VRS SH.

ATC should adjust power to attain 8.1 degrees alpha. If I recall correctly, it works just fine in the VRS Super Hornet, so in most cases you should be able to score better grades with it than without. There's a few reasons why you might choose not to use them for personal preference, however... that's my reasoning as well.

Never knew there was so much info on Wikipedia for CV operations! That's cool!

Yes it is personal preference and the other thing I never use is ACLS in Janes F/A-18E as I prefer to land myself.:pilotfly:

Thanks DarkEagle :)

Carrier ops sure is a lot of fun !

Eight Ball, have to say I just love this video, but 2 things I wanted to ask.

A) I'm guessing this is MP, I always experience the Bouncing Wing man Phenomenon just to confirm there isnt a "fix" for this that I missed anywhere.

Edit, or is it the Recording thingymibob that I forget what its called.

B) Any Chance you could share what appears to be an excellent ??ENB?? config and DLL, I couldnt find any that are stable for FSX.

Thanks In advance btw.

@Everyone

:cry:Please don't shout because its not a ED related post:cry:

Ill go DCS Spam an FSX forum:pilotfly:

FSX still gives me terminal nerd rage.

Ok, I cannot stop thinking about this quote here. I bought FSX about a month ago because I wanted to try something new and I saw there was an F-22 add on. As far as avionics go, I know that it would not be remotely like the F-22. I was however hoping it would handle really cool with the thrust vectoring. Yeah, the add on definitely didn't include that.

Anyways, I cannot believe how slow FSX runs. The amount of tweaks required is ridiculous in order to get even 20 FPS.

"Terminal nerd rage" is THE way to describe this game. Ever since I saw this quote I have been randomly cracking up at various times throughout the day. It is just so perfect is describing the game.

See here:

FSuX is hopeless for any military sims, VRS is a dead end.

FSuX is still good when tweaked for hardcore civi sims though. I eagerly await the PMDG 777.

VRS are good devs and have done a good job with Tacpac and the Superhornet. I doubt you could do better.:joystick:

You're being a fan boi. ;)

I call it the way I see, as always, damn the consequences.

Major FPS issues with TP: missiles and even gun rounds will drop FPS online. Needs fixing. No data link, need one desperately. When those are addressed and when (or if) FSX@War appears I will re-evaluate.

On behalf of an entire flight sim community who never really cared for your opinions, shut the hell up. Personally, I think 10 years of your fanboi crap has gone on long enough. Stick with Falcon 4, Im sure they still love you over at frugals.

AFAIK you only speak for yourself. ...and not very eloquently at that. Carry on.

You know a thing or 2 about eloquence? Im hard pressed to find a forum you belong to where eloquence was your strong point. Also hard pressed to find a forum where you didnt whine about one thing or another because it wasnt F4. Boo. Hoo. Trust me when I say very few people agree with your pov. Take care.

That's quite enough out of you two. If you absolutley have to continue to compare the length of certain appendices of your bodies, you will do so in private (that means per PM).

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Doesn't mean it's not still a dead end.

Not really its when they start putting the same stuff into Prepare3d I think that it will do quite well. With FSX the SDK will allow people to make their addons combat capable.

Are you guys really fighting about this? Isn't this what Call of Duty and Battlefield fans do? The flight simulation community, as a whole, is such a tiny niche community. Do we really need cry about what's better?

How about common ground.. like how piracy is killing the flight sim community?
