Rotorhead Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Maybe the easiest way out for the ED coders (but I am not in their shoes...) would be to add a "reverse X force axis" checkbox and a "reverse Y force axis" checkbox to the "swap axis" one in the config screen and implement FFB sign changes accordingly. This brute force solution may not be elegant but would at least restore functionality. Unfortunately I can't rep you, but that's great idea mate!
Suchacz Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) Just to make it clearly visible for further debate, I will add two pictures how FFB Trim works in Black Shark (1.2.2 version) with G940. Normal FFB setting FFB axes swaped ...as you can see, ticking "Swap Axis" solves the problem only partially, the "roll" FFB axis is still inverted. I didn't find any way how to invert it in Logitech drivers. Edited December 28, 2012 by Suchacz Per aspera ad astra! mrsylvestre Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 @Suchaz : yes that is exactly the problem and why a single "inverse forces" option would not solve the issue, hence the need of two distinct "inverse X-forces" and "inverse Y-forces" options. 5800X3D - 64GB DDR4 - Samsung 990 PRO SSD @ PCI 4.0 x 16 - 7900XTX (6950XT for posts before May 2025) - Pico 4 (VDXR)

You need both options: - swap axis AND THEN - invert X-axis I'm really upset, that I can't fly my beloved BS properly now, and Hog can't be trimmed properly either. Of course, you can turn FFB to OFF, but flying with default center-spring effect is not as comfortable. I hope, that ED will solve this as fast as posible. mrsylvestre Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Since they are "talking" to logitech... how about getting the button lights working, being the first sim to do so natively :P Look here :) : http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=772603&postcount=20 OK, it is done through a LUA script and a client app, but that is IMHO a terrific feature, not a limitation, of the DCS series as this allows a lot of customization. 5800X3D - 64GB DDR4 - Samsung 990 PRO SSD @ PCI 4.0 x 16 - 7900XTX (6950XT for posts before May 2025) - Pico 4 (VDXR)

To fly the KA-50 Properly in 1.2.2 you just need Sim FFB , Direct Download Link To get the Hog (and FC3 Planes) to trim probely in 1.2.2 you just have to change your HAT POV (TRIM) key bindings so they are rotated around clockwise (or is it anti clockwise?) 90 degree's and it works fine again. I am also disappointed that it has taken so long for a fix form ED, but when the is a will there is always another way! This is not really true, especially for the hog. Setting GUN/PAC to the ARM position, the stick should move e few degrees to the front. With this solution, it moves a few degrees to the left. A-10 still unplayable!! ED: Bring a "hotfix" for this goddamn bug ASAP, please!!! Ensi Ferrum Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Getting really cheesed off 'bout the manner ED forces their customers to wait for a little patch! And I mean really little! It's only one, maybe 2 Files. You can all to a little test, in case you have the files from 1.2.1 on your HDD: Make a new folder called eg. "FFTest_121". Copy the following files from "your_DCSW121_Install\bin" to "FFTest_121": - FFTest.exe - edCore.dll - lua.dll - nedmalloc.dll - NewInput.dll - physfs.dll - tbb.dll Make a second new folder, call it eg. "FFTest_122" Copy the same files from "your_DCSW_122_Install\bin" to "FFTest_122" Now start "FFtest.exe" from the "FFTest_121" folder and watch the output on your G940 as you move the sliders. Close FFTest.exe" start "FFtest.exe" from the "FFTest_122" folder and again watch the output on your G940 as you move the sliders. Now you can compare the files in the 2 FFTest folders: To make a long story short, it's only edCore.dll and NewInput.dll which have changed! edCore.dll might have something to do with the Multiplayer problems, but I don't think that NewInput.dll is responsible for the other big problem. So I don't understand why we have to wait week over week over week to get a fix which is persistent for about 3 (!!) months now. jib Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 They still havn't fixed that trim button doesn't release the trim forces when using the G940 which is a real shame, :( I guess we will have to continue to use simffb to fix it when flying the shark, Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated! mrsylvestre Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Not sure about what you mean exactly. Should the stick become limp when the trim button is pressed ? To me, the current behaviour (zeroing the forces at the current position when the trim button is pressed) is what I expect. Besides, it worked light that in the standalone BS1 and BS2 and also in DCSWorld before the infamous 1.2.2 bug, if I am correct. -- PS. mrsylvestre Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Does anyone's G940 work right with 1.2.3? I'd like to know ppls settings so I can fine out what I've got wrong or if its my stick. All info you can give me here will be helpful. Thanks. Here we go: first go to "options", there are three tabs that need your attention. In tab "Controls", show "Axis Commands" (left drop-list close to the top), click on your joystick X or Y axis then click the "FF TUNE" button (bottom). Start with default values for "Trimmer force" (100) and "Shake" (50). For the G940, "swap axis", "invert X" and "invert Y" should be left unchecked. In tab "Misc.", tick the "Force Feedback enabled" checkbox. In tab "Special", "Central position trimmer mode" should be left unchecked In Logitech Profiler, all force settings are at 100%, I just disable the centering spring (with the checkbox, not the slider). Et voilà... Hope this helps! 5800X3D - 64GB DDR4 - Samsung 990 PRO SSD @ PCI 4.0 x 16 - 7900XTX (6950XT for posts before May 2025) - Pico 4 (VDXR)

After updating to 1.2.3 SU25T,P51D,A10C,BS all worked perfectly with G940... unfortunately i updated to 1.2.3.10201 and it ruined all... the yaw axis - rudder - came alive and started moving to left and right just by itself...eventually it always makes the aircraft want to turn right... e.g. it`s a pure art to take off with the SU25T since it steers to the right heavily...when airborne things get a lot better and landing is possible...it`s a bit easier to take off with the A10C but in the air it steers so heavily to the right that one cannot enjoy flying and a safe landing is very hard to be carried out...P51D is the same, steering to right at take off but it can be controlled, in the air from time to time it makes a steer to the right...landing is not easy but possible...it made me so sad that i did not even give the BS/KA50/ a shot... ...has anyone experienced the same ?... ...any solution ?... ...thank you... ...i really like this game... ***Thanks to the community, SkateZilla, 159th Viper, cichlidfan coming to the rescue, first clearing then reassigning rudder input perfectly solved my issue. vista64, Asus P6T deluxe, i7 920, 12GB triple chan.
