In FC3 the SU27 & Migs have no forward view of the airstrip when landing circles aligned in the HUD. The only way I can land them, is to approach too high & then dive for the runway at the last minute. Without 6 DOF, can anyone suggest a better way to land these aircraft, or a way to up the seat height to see over the nose.

As I said in your other identical thread, never seen this myself - got a screenshot per chance taken with TrackIr off, view centered (Numpad 5)?

i also have no idea what you are talking about. may i suggest using the in cockpit ils gauges. they are much more accurate than the hud.

the only problem i have notices is with landing su 33 on the carrier. my instruments seem to guide me to crash against the beginning of the carrier.i dont know if its me or the system but the only way i seem to help these is to basically do a visual correction right a the end

Yup, add some landing flare and you should trap...

Sounds like your AoA is too high. Are your flaps extended and/or is your landing speed too low? Either one or both is the likely culprit. You should have no difficulty keeping the runway in view without resorting to a high approach.

I beleave it has to do with the AoA bug..

What AoA bug? If done correctly runway is visible... if you can't see it you are not doing it right.

Flaring for a carrier trap? I don't think so. The carrier ILS worked fine in previous versions (you could trap with zero (literally) visibility), maybe it is kind of broken now.

Don't think that is correct, a carrier landing is a controlled crash. I've always been able to see the carrier when landing, using carrier ILS. It worked perfectly fine in FC2, did something change in FC3? Have you ever seen navy pilots land their jets on a normal runway? I have and they do it just like landing on a carrier, they just plant that sucker down, no flare, they aren't use to it.

This is a correct Su-27 approach.

No problem to see the runway.

See the pic, try to determine what you're doing wrong for not having +/- the same view.

Cheers,

Az'
