Stacker Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hey, I'm looking for an A-10 squadron ideally based in the UK/EUR (for timezone/ping reasons). I see a lot of US based ones but UK seems a bit thin on the ground. The ones I have found aren't actively recruiting. Can probably do 1-2 hours several times a week (starting on or around 9-10pm UK time), preferably more at the weekends. Haven't done MP before on this sim but did a lot of on FSX via a virtual airline. I'm now fairly comfortable with most of the systems on the aircraft so I'm not a complete noob - however, still plenty to learn - especially the MP aspects/brevity/SADL etc.. I'm not interested in goofing around on a server blowing stuff up randomly etc.. Instead, I want to learn the correct procedures for successfully executing a mission with real people instead of AI etc.. PM or reply with a link if anyone has any free slots available. Cheers. i7-4790K@4.7GHz : EVGA 1070 SC : 16GB Corsair Vengence Pro : 2xEVO 840 SSD : EVGA 850W PSU : CORSAIR H100i Cooler : ASUS Z97-AR MB : CORSAIR OBSIDIAN 750D FULL TOWER
kraszus Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I'd also be interested in a UK squadron that would accept a complete novice.

craptakular Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Hi, This maybe the correct place for me to post! I am looking to get a squadron, I am very much a novice. I can start the aircraft, take off and sometimes land :p I am willing to learn and put the time in but I don't want to waste peoples time. Do I need to read and watch youtube until I can navigate, use the weapons and land? I am looking for friendly people to learn and play with, if it's all shouty and "Sir, yes, Sir" then it's probably not for me. Is there such a squadron willing to take a gamble and help me? I am English, 29 and hold a degree, so I think I can still learn stuff.
159th_Viper Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 (edited) Aye craptakular The 159th are currently recruiting to their Fighter Wing (Fast-Jets), Strike Wing (Bombers), Attack Wing (Helo's and Bombers) and Auxiliary Wing (217th Motor Rifle Brigade). Hop on over to our site (via link in my sig - 159th are now recruiting) and forums (via tab on left of page) and have a wee look around. All we require is good sense of humour, the rest we're willing to teach if you're willing to learn. UK-based with members from all reaches of the World with formal Squad flights at Wed 20h00CST, Thursday 20h00BST and Sunday 20h00BST. 159th_Viper Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Sounds good. The only night I cannot do is Sunday.... That's fine - there are no 'essential attendance' policies. 159th_Viper Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 You guys do fly the A10C right? Correct, albeit flown in Russian livery as part of the Red Coalition - allocated to the Attack Wing. craptakular Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Ok, I am going to re-learn how to start the A10C and take off over the weekend, I need to setup my trackir and joystick. I haven't played it in ages after getting frustrated. I will report back next week, although most of next week I am away for work. I just don't want to rock up on your teamspeak without a working game, profile or the ability to start it up :p
