rrohde Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 It seems that during any mission, the standby ADI stops working and ends up in the most peculiar position, completely out of bounds. Any idea what might be causing this? Yurgon Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Any idea what might be causing this? Not precisely, no. But I've noticed the same thing ever since BS1, so at least I don't think it's a bug (or if it is, it's been there for a long time :)). I think re-caging the Standby ADI does return it to a usable state, that's why I ended up usually leaving it caged so I could un-cage it in case of emergency. That's probably not the preferred way to use it, but it works for me. :)

Just leave it caged unless your main is down i'd say... Daniel M Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 uncage it, and then when it gets out of whack, right click and hold to reset to "level" edit, i use it more often then the non-standby one because it's in my fov...but yeah haven't really really had a reason to use it(yet)
codenamepanzer Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Don't you have the same problem with the compass backup, more than 40° of deviation sometimes.
BaD CrC Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Don't you have the same problem with the compass backup, more than 40° of deviation sometimes. The magnetic compass shall be read only when flying straight and leveled otherwise you'll get a massive error on the indication. Is it the case when you got this 40° error? https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
seikdel Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I haven't quite figured out how to minimize SADI drift, but letting the INU spin up for ~90sec and then uncaging the SADI before starting the engines (and even the APU) seems to help.
JG14_Smil Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Have to concur with seikdel and I think it is better to uncage early on.

I am not sure when this happens, to be honest, but I believe it happens a lot when I am fighting the AP. :joystick: PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit Gear: HP Reverb G2 | JetPad FSE | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk.III w/ MCG Ultimate VKBcontrollers.com
codenamepanzer Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 The magnetic compass error is due to a bug on the last Ricardo HD cockpit. I don't have with an other HD cockpit.
