JaNk0 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Hasn't Zzz space done any new replace sound for Lock On FC 1.11 ??? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I've had that pack for a while didn't upload it though as I did not test it. I use ZZZSpace v.1 FC pack with cockpit+radio chatter sounds from the v.8
diveplane Posted December 9, 2005 Author Posted December 9, 2005 the sounds yes there loud, adjust the sounds with sliders , i like the incockpit mod even hear the pilot breath..... what really makes this mod great is the external sounds just like the real jets........, i tried zzz spaces mods and have to say his mod comes nowhere close to realistic sounds off fighters........just my opinion though...... proof is in the video demo too me, just like the real jets =sounding https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I went to CombatAce and grabbed their files, but they were the same I had, so I guess it is up to date. I made a new pack - a combo of two of Archers packs, it is a Loman 5 pack. and it is FC compatible Archer Sound Mod v2.1 I used these settings MASTER VOLUME = 100% (or a setting to balance with multiplay voice comms) MUSIC = 25% RADIO = 100% ENGINES = 70% MECHANICALS = 90% EFFECTS = 90% WIND = 70% WARNING = 50% COCKPIT = 90%
diveplane Posted December 9, 2005 Author Posted December 9, 2005 nice job.... https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
ARM505 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Forgive me for asking what may be a dumb question, but how intertwined are the external and internal sounds? I ask because while ZZZspace's external sounds are great, the internal sounds also keep some of that typical 'thundering' noise of no-bypass turbojets, whereas my experience of being in them is more of a 'whining' noise in the background. I have no experience of being in a jet in afterburner though, I can only imagine it would be a seat of the pants kind of rumbling. So, is this sound pack more 'whine' inside than 'thunder'? I feel far more immersion with the quiet whining than the rumbling.
Guest ruggbutt Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I use a mix between zzzspace and Archer's sounds. I made my own little cobbled together pack that suits my needs. Both sound packs have their strong points.

Kula66 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 When I read the title I thought oh no not 'Archer in-bound! Boom!!!'
Guest ruggbutt Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Regardless of whose sound pack you use, they're both a notch above what comes w/the sim. I have an old sound pack from the 112th, and I really like their bitchin' betty sounds. Whoever modded them panned them a bit more right in the cockpit and used a bit of doubling so they weren't as crisp. They sound great, as if they're mixing with the in cockpit sounds.
Pilotasso Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 how much does the entire sound folder takes up with this MOD? I wanna know how much of a burdain it is when loading up. .
Fudd Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Great soundpack, breaking the sound barrier sounds a lot more realistic. The two gripes I have are: flares sound like rockets, and Kh-41 has no sound after first stage burns out. The code is probaly in Russian anyway.
