I assume, the installation could not be finalized? In this case, a little more information would be helpful. Please send the installation log file to support@ariescon.com. The XML file can be found in the folder, where setup.exe was started.

Is anyone else having problems with the ingame comms system? AI wingmen/JTAC and ATC is unresponsive across the board. SP, MP, campaign, quick mission.

Only when I uninstalled Aries, did this error disappear.

This is a feature of DCS. If the volume of the radio boxes are too low, DCS suppresses the reception of radio transmissions. In this case, the reports from AI objects. Set the volume to a normal level. This should solve your problem.

A kind feature request:

 

Add the possibilities to assign modifier keys or key combinations for the radio selection.

In addition, a per aircraft key assignment would be nice as well.

You configured your operating system obviously with some complicated path directives and drive definitions. The log file reports a drive H:\AriesWingsSystem which should normally be C:\Program Files\AriesWings. The same seems to be for the Saved Games folder. The installer consults some standard API functions to find the correct path to Saved Games. While Setup.exe (= Aries developed) works on the correct Saved Games path, does DCSW_ABRadio (Windows installer) not find the correct path. The only recommendation I can give is to revert your path and drive definitions at least for the installation of Aries Radio. Additionally, before you start a new installation, uninstall any Aries Radio from your system. You should even have a look to the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\AriesWings

Delete the entire “AriesWings” branch (not HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE).

With a standard file system and a clean registry, the installation should work.

I installed Aries Radio a few weeks ago and since I installed it I am getting DCS Crash at the end of every mission and when I exit the program.

Sometimes I have to re-do the missions of the campaign because it crashes right when I click exit and the mission does not get recorded as successful.

Any help on this?

To find the reason for the crash, I would need the following log files from a crash session:

 

C:\Users\[user]\Saved Games\[DCSversion]\Logs\dcs.log,

 

If available, C:\Users\[user]\Saved Games\[DCSversion]\Logs\ DCS.openbeta-xxxxxxxx-yyyyyy.crash

 

C:\Program Files\AriesWings\PRCL\ApplicationData\Aries_Session_Protocol.html.

It appears following a few quick tests that ATC comms are not audible when Aries radio plugin is connected to DCS in Teamspeak. With DCS connection Off, ATC comms can be heard.

Yeah, volumes were fine. I can hear Wingman on Aries fine. Discovered cannot hear ANY sound files out side of normal aircraft sounds.

 

(Played 1.5 CSAR map that has numerous voice overs. Nothing. Heard on any freq)

I will test this out. Under normal circumstances, Aries does not interfere with DCS voice com. It only checks frequencies and does not suppress any DCS voice. The only conceivable error source in connection with Aries could be too weak volume setting and/or incorrect frequency setting.

Me and my mates downloaded the Aries Radio today and we tried it, we found that it was not working with the FC3 aircraft. When I jumped onto a Mi-8 and transmitted, the others could hear me. But, when we jumped into any FC3 aircraft, the radio was not transmitting at all. The green transmit LED does not light up. Can anyone please help us? And, yeah, we were all on the same frequency, and the TS status shows the correct aircraft and frequency.

I just tested it out and found no malfunction for FC3 aircraft. If no carrier light (green LED) comes up, then it points to a PTT issue. On seldom problem is the difference between common PTT and combined select/PTT. If you use the MI8, then the radio box 1 is selected immediately after mission start and you can use common PTT without an explicit box selection. With FC3 aircraft you need to select a radio box before you can use common PTT. If no box is selected (no yellow LED) then PTT is ignored. If this is not the reason, then it would be for interest whether other users have similar problems with FC3 aircraft.

Dear Aries users,

A new version of Aries Radio is available for download. Users who run already version 1.987 may use the upgrade package. New users or users running an older version need the entire installation package. Beside some small internal bug fixes, we have included the M2000C model. All details of the M2000C Radios are described in the user manual. The new version supports all versions of DCS.
